Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I ordered the Draw Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver & Winch Mount Plate. I am happy with the items as they were very simple to install. The service and delivery was amazing. We rent and deliver restroom trailers and sometimes we have to park these trailers in difficult locations. We purchased this front mount receiver hitch to simplify parking our trailers. The receiver hitch was fairly easy to install but we had to remove the fog lights. Etrailer was very prompt in shipping the hitch. They provided free shipping and we received the hitch in jast a few days. I can highly recommend etrailer.

This product came with all the parts and paper work needed for a succsesful installation. I was pleased with the entire transaction.

by:
2006 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Delivered on time and all parts were accounted for even though the boxes were destroyed from shipping.
This unit, along with the item MX600 installed very easily and quick. I'm just bummed I have to refit or replace my OEM fog lights.

Overall I will get many miles of use from this hauling my Honda 230, now I can keep my T/T hooked up and still access the bike.

It is a great hitch I have a front rack that’s on it now to haul my generator and fire wood also I’ll be using it for my bike rack to haul my e-bike with , did lose my mind on the bolts I did get some help to get them in,tho my patience ran out, but all in all it’s a great hitch.

by:
2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Added to use with a front winch. The install was not too difficult and the included instructions were spot-on. On my F250, the front tow hooks add to the strength of holding the hitch to the frame. On the F250 you do lose the OEM fog light location, but I used the wiring to add/relocate after-market fog lights. The set up has already proven helpful, pulling me out of a snow back while plowing. Just what I needed for some summer off road camping as well.

This is just what I needed for off-road driving. I use it with a removable winch and it also help me pull someone out of a snowbank this past winter.

by:
2003 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

I chose this product because it was among the more inexpensive front hitches I could find. I plan to build a t-bar for it and use it in conjunction with a homemade headache rack to carry 16 foot garage doors. Like other reviews and vids I have found, the bolt up is hard. I reversed the bolts and use the new ones on the outside, as well as removing my grill. My truck is a 2003 - so not much room like the 2008 and newer trucks.

product works fine no issues

by:
2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty

The hitch is fine, very solid piece of steel. The only issue was one of the instructions said to take off the plastic molding on the bumper to insert the hitch. I have a 2000 Ford F250. Removing the molding just ruins the molding. You have to remove the entire bumper and can leave the molding alone.

by:
2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Great install video and great fit/finish. Easy.

by:

I had a minor problem. The big holes were not big enough to slip over the tow rings on the front, and the bolts holding the tow rings were so rusted.
I did manage to get it installed after buying an air gun for bolt removal. I love having the hich, makes it so much easier to move my boat around.

by:

Just what I needed. I have a 5th wheel with no good way to put a hitch on. I bought the front receiver to haul my bicycles in front of the truck. Works very well, Was a little bit of work getting in on the truck but fit well. With a receiver on front and rear of my truck I can use a winch on either end if needed. I would recommend for anyone with some basic skills. Some drilling required and maybe 2 sets of hands. Have used it many times and am very happy with it.

by:

Installed on a 2001 Ford F-250. Relatively easy installation. It took about 8 hours to complete. The only ‘mistake’ I made was tightening down the receiver before reinstalling the tow rings. The lower edge of the receiver hitch will prevent access to the forward bolts of the tow rings. I was able to loosen the hitch enough to tighten the rings down. The hitch fits perfectly, and no new holes were needed. My only complaint is packaging of the hardware—some of it was loose in the box and I managed to lose a washer. Other than that, I’m am very happy!

by:
2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty

1. Not sure why the box needs to be so big for this hitch? This hitch is long and narrow, but the box looks like it’s for a 55-inch TV! What a waste. There is so much room in the box, the hitch was not secured, broke loose and penetrated the box. The hitch had some minor damage. Not worth to return it.
2. I read reviews from other web sites that this hitch and or the truck may need to be modified to get the hitch to fit. This is true for me. I had to cut and file notches on the driver’s side frame bumper plate to get the new hitch bolts to line up.
3. Overall, if it wasn’t for the modification, it would have been an easy install.

by:

Item shipped in timely manner and in great shape. Directions were straight for word and understandable. Two bolts were hard to access behind bumper. Viedo was a great help and very useful in install of hitch. Service was great and price was right. Was very pleased with my purchase and installation. Will be used for portable winch on front of truck.

by:

Good products. Hitch hides well when not in use. When I have my camper on back I can take my dirt bike on the front. Installation as shown on the videos. etrailer was easy to use and fast shipping. I will use them again and recommend them to anyone.

by:

Only thing I could say negatively is that I have to remove my front license plate to use the receiver. Not sure how to remedy that as in California, front license plates are mandatory.
Installation took some modification but with the help of another person, it went well.

by:

awesome fit ! Installed with ease ! will come in handy when launching boat with camper on. Highly recomend this place for all your towing needs amonst other items . Thanks Guys job well done !!!

Pontiac Trans Sport Van

Perfect fit, don't even notice it is there. You do have to relocate your front plate if required to have one in your state. I use mine to transport (or just play music from the front) cargo carrier mounted speakers and sub. I also have a hitch mounted Superwinch and the front hitch allows me to recover from the front and rear of the truck.

by:

Perfect fit and look on my 2000 Ford F350 4x4 Crew Cab. Great price, fast shipping and excellent customer service. Not noticeable from the front unless you put in a receiver plug like my NRA plug. Just make sure you watch the install video on YouTube and you have the proper tools... LOL.

by:
2001 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Great price, and a great product.
I
plan on using it to carry a bike rack.

If you have a Powerstroke, save yourself a couple of hours of work and remove the front cross member, or recruit somebody with really thin forearms and hands to help get the two inside bolts tight.

Thanks for reaching out Denis, I'd love to clear the air for you! While I don't have info on the factory that the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65022 is made at, what I can say is that Draw-Tite is one of the leading hitch brands on the market, and is what a lot of the knockoffs try to model their hitches after. Not everyone knows this but the U-Haul branded hitches are either rebranded Draw-Tite or Curt hitches (Curt is the other leading brand) and it just depends on...

  • Can Front Hitch For 2004 Ford F-250 With 5k Trailer Rating Move 10k Trailer
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65022 is rated for a 5,000 lb trailer and 500 lbs of tongue weight, and the amount of time isn't a factor. So you wouldn't be able to move a 10,000 lb trailer even if it is swift, as you are limited to the lowest common factor. For safety that's just not something I can say is okay to do, I have to go by what the engineers at the hitch manufacturers have found their product is rated for.

  • Comparing the Curt Front Hitch 31114 and the Draw-Tite Front Hitch 65022 for a 2000 Ford F-250
There are virtually no structural differences between the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31114 and the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65022 for your 2000 Ford F-250. They both install in the exact same location and allot for a 500/5,000 Lb vertical load and line pull rating. The main reason for the price difference is that the Curt hitch is made in the USA and has a more resistant powder coating. I have attached a sample install video for you as well.
