If your bumper is tight on space, you don't want a bulky winch eating up more room. This compact 10,000-lb winch uses dual-range gearing, so you can pull hard in low range and retrieve line faster with lighter loads.
You might start a recovery thinking it'll be a quick pull, then the tires dig in and the load gets heavier. Low range gear uses a 437:1 gear ratio for pulls up to 10,000 lbs, giving your winch the gearing it needs to keep working through the harder part of the recovery.
Once the hard pull is over, you don't need to crawl through the rest of the line. High range gear switches to a 156:1 gear ratio for faster line speed with loads up to 3,000 lbs, getting your line back in quicker as the recovery wraps up.
By the time you add recovery gear, lights, and other equipment up front, bumper space can disappear fast. Your winch uses 10" x 4-1/2" and 6-3/8" x 4-1/2" mounting bolt patterns, giving you more ways to work with the space you have while keeping 10,000 lbs of pulling capability on the vehicle.
During a recovery, the best place to stand isn't always right next to your bumper. Wired and wireless remotes let you operate the winch from a position where you can watch the line and attachment point, giving you a clearer view of what's happening as the vehicle moves.
Sometimes you need to stop mid-pull to check the line or reset your position. The 100% full-load holding automatic mechanical brake holds loads up to 10,000 lbs after you stop, while the Overload Interrupter automatically shuts off operation at 10,000 lbs to help prevent vehicle damage during a hard pull.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Let's take a look at Superwinch's Scorpion 12-volt electric winch, featuring a synthetic rope and it's a hawse fairlead. Folks, this is rated for 10,000 pounds capacity and this electric winch has been designed to provide a high-capacity recovery option and yet a compact, smaller, lightweight housing. It uses a permanent magnet motor, so that's gonna give you instant dynamic braking. It's gonna support controlled operation and wireless operation.
So it does come with the control remote here. I just left it all wound up. You can plug it in. You simply pop the tab up here and that matches up right with that plug there, and then from there, you can use the in and out option, or they also include a wireless remote option, which I like, and now you can be farther away and use that remote as well. So I'm gonna put that to the side here.
And then again, I'm gonna bring this back over here. This is their synthetic cable. It's a 3/8 inch by 54 foot, and they even give you a soft shackle that is protected up here with the cloth there, and then you have the knot up here as well. So if I we inchesre to pull this out, this is all one big loop here as far as that front part there. So very nice, very strong, stronger than steel.
It's gonna eliminate metal to metal contact. It's gonna prevent the frayings and those kind of things. And then again, you have that hawse fairlead and everything. I just have everything set here in place. You have all the mounting bolts and hardware.
I just have this set on top of the mounting bracket. So like I said, lightweight, easy to move around when you have to install it. And then of course, you have your main wiring and your circuit breaker built into that wiring lead. And then of course, you have your clutch operation here, high, low, and then free spool. Depending on what you need, you would turn it and then operate it as such. It has a clockable gearbox, and that allows for four mounting options. So again, you can mount this in four different orientations. So it's a very flexible installation as well. It uses a low amp draw, so it's gonna maximize the performance of your winch from just a single 12-volt battery. Now the rate of line pull is 7,500 to 12,500 pounds, but the weight rating is 10,000 pounds max. So make sure you're not going over the max rating. And again, you have again, the wired and the wireless remote options. The brake system uses 100% braking at a full load. It's gonna automatically do that. It's a mechanical style brake. And I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look together, folks. It does also use a light drum here and that's gonna give you more visibility during low-light recovery situations as well. So it's lit up in here so you can see everything a little bit better as well. I'm Steven, thanks for watching. Reach out if you have any questions about this or any other products.
