Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at the Superwinch SP 45 ATV series Winch. Now this medium duty winch with a 1.8 horsepower permanent magnet motor and mechanical brake is going to let you quickly and safely recover a stuck UTV. This winch is designed for ATV and UTV enthusiasts and this is built to withstand the harshest conditions like mud, snow, sand, rough trails, and a whole lot more. This ATV recovery winch is designed for recreation and standard duty work applications. The 12 volt DC 1.8 horsepower motor is going to deliver powerful, fast and safe line pulling.

The rated line pull with the single layer of wire rope around the drum is 4,500 pounds static load. So the motor is lighter and uses less current than a series wound motor and it's sealed to keep out water and prevent internal corrosion. The sealed contactor is going to transmit power from your vehicle's battery to the winch motor and it's going to mount on or near the UTV's battery box with the included hardware. And this 10 foot wired remote is going to let you control the winch from a safe position. And you see it says your out and your in functionality, you've got your plug in there and then you will just wire up the socket that that remote's gonna plug into.

So it does include that. And this also includes dash mounted control switches and the switch, and this switch right here is going to control a patented drum light. So that's the first time I've seen a light actually included in the winch, but it is gonna be underneath right here. So you're gonna be able to see what's going on there in low light or dark conditions. So again, dash mounted control switches that are also included with this, along with that 10 foot wired remote.

The all steel three stage planetary gear train is going to provide increased drum speed when compared to one or two stage models. The gear ratio is 198 to 1 the line pull at zero pounds, the line speed with that kind of a line pull is gonna be about 16 feet per minute. And then the line pull at 4,500 pounds, the line speed's gonna be three-15/16 feet per minute. The free spooling cam clutch is going to ensure fast rope payout, it's gonna reduce wear on the motor and this 7/32" diameter wire rope is going to ensure that it's going to be very strong for you. This is aircraft grade galvanized steel, this cable is so it's gonna hold up really well for you.

It's 40 foot long and it's gonna be very strong and abrasion resistant. And then this does include this heavy duty 1/4" steel clevis hook with a nylon hand saver strap. And the mechanical brake is going to hold 100% of the load while minimizing winch creep. The heavy duty steel roller fairlead has a clear, anodized finish that's going to resist corrosion. And then the mounting channel with hardware is included for winch and fairlead. You may be required to create a custom solution to mount this winch and fairlead to your UTV and the durable graphite powder coated body and motor is going to resist corrosion. So lemme go ahead and give you some overall measurements and I'm just gonna hold a tape measure up to it just to kind of give you an idea of the size. So looking at the overall length, we're sitting pretty close to 14" long and the width is gonna be a little bit more difficult to show, let me see if I can get my ruler here. That might be a little bit easier. But I'm gonna include the frontier of the roller all the way to the back. So my measurement is right at about, right at about eight inches wide there. And then the overall height, about 5-1/2" tall. And then let me show you the underneath here. So as you can see there, this is gonna be a two bolt mounting pad, a pattern and center to center, it's gonna be right at 4-7/8" by 3". This winch itself is about a little over 30 pounds in weight. And this does include everything that you see here on my table. You're gonna get the cabling, the hardware, instruction manual. I mentioned the dash switches, the remote, the socket that you're gonna wire up for the remote. So the complete kit that you're going to need here. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today.
