Question:

I am looking for a Class III hitch and wiring harness for a 2024 Mazda CX-5. I would also like the trailer wiring to be routed underneath the vehicle to a bracket near the hitch instead of having to route the wire out the hatch when in use. Please include the appropriate bracket for this application.

Hey Steve! I really like having the wiring sit next to the receiver as well so I definitely get where you're coming from. Here are the parts I recommend installing on your 2024 Mazda CX-5:

- etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98902
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C45FV
- Mounting Brackets # 18144 and # C57202

There are a few grommets in the bottom of your hatch that you can route the 4-Way connector through and then you'll use the mounting brackets to hold the 4-Way next to the hitch receiver. I really like our hitch receiver because it has our branding, but because we are the only ones with a matte black finish which looks better and is more durable than the classic glossy black we see on the other options.

If you don't already have a ball mount then I also recommend checking out the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45534 because it has the necessities as well as a few extras like the locking pin and the 2" receiver cover.
