Hi, everybody. Andy here with the trailer.com and today we're taking a look at this Shocker HD Air Receiver Hitch with clevis mount for two and a 1/2 inch hitch receivers. This is going to have a gross towing capacity of 16,000 pounds. And this heavy duty shock absorbing receiver hitch provides superior comfort while towing by reducing road shock and chucking using airbag and bumper stop technologies. As you can see here, this hitch features an industrial strength airbag and at the top here, cushion bumps stops that dampen chucking and road shock. This hooks your trailer to your tow vehicle with this included clevis pin mount.
So, this is going to be perfect for towing hay wagons and hydros tanks and other farm applications. And this inch and a 1/4 pinhole will accommodate a variety of equipment. By the way, the inside distance between these two tanks is going to be about three and a 1/4 inches. And then the distance between the outside of the tanks, it's going to be about four and three 1/4 inches. Now, as you can see here, there are two easy to remove pins.
And what's nice about these pins is they have these large rings that are easy to grasp. So, no more fumbling with small hitch pin heads, as you can see, I can easily fit up to four of my fingers through one of these rings. And not only that, there are large safety clips that's going to make removing and securing the pin and clips very easy. What I would like to do is just give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is to adjust. So, I'm going to remove my safety clips and then turn this around, so you can see these pins, and by the way, these rings can be moved or folded over in either direction.
If you need to move them out of your way, for whatever reason. And you're going to get a drop range of a 1/2 an inch to three and a 1/2 inches. And so we've got our pins in place. We adjusted our clevis mount. So, let me go ahead and secure this with our safety clips and the inside width of this channel, we're going to be setting right at three and three 1/4 inches wide inside that channel.
And then the distance between these vertical mounting holes is going to be an inch in between each of those holes. So, this is also going to be compatible with the shocker hitch combination ball, the two and five 16th inch ball, the two inch ball, the drop Mount, the sway bar mount the standard ball mount, the drawbar, the pintle hook. Of course, all of those attachments are sold separately, but you can find them under the related product section of this product page. Now this air gauge works like a teeter-totter with the airbag on one end and your trailer coupler on the other end. And as your trailer exerts force downward, the unit pivots and the airbag absorbs the energy. When the trailer jerks backward or push us forward. These two cushion bump stops, reduce the force for a smoother ride. Now this airbag is easily adjustable. What we have here is this air valve with an included cap. And once you would do for heavier loads is you would just add more air, and for lighter loads you would just let air out. And again, the cap is included and it's going to be very easy to add or let air out. And then on the opposite side, we have this Greek grease zerk fitting. That's going to allow simple and easy maintenance of this pivot point. So, maintenance is going to be simple. This is of a grade 50 steel plate construction, and this cold rolled shank. All of this is going to provide maximum durability for you. The gross towing weight to 16,000 pounds, the tongue weight is 1600 pounds and it's shot blasted and powder coated to prevent rust. Again, this is going to fit your two and a 1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver. The hitch pin hole diameter is 5/8 of an inch. This does not come with a pin and clip. So, that would be a separate purchase. If you don't have a pin and clip for a 5/8 of an inch pin hole diameter. However, I would recommend taking a look at the infinite rule locking pins or shocker hitch ball mounts for two inch and two and a 1/2 inch hitches. You will get three of those locking pins, one pin to lock your shocker hitch to your hitch receiver on the back of your vehicle. And then the other two locking pins will replace these pins that come with your hitch to lock and secure your attachment to your shocker hitch. It's a great way to secure your investment. I would recommend taking a look at that. You can use item number IR39FR, to see those on our website. Speaking of the hitch pin hole, the distance from the first hitch pin hole to the center of the clevis mount hole is going to be right at about 11 inches. And then from the second hitch pin hole to the center of the clevis mount hole, we're going to be sitting right at 12 inches. The distance below the receiver tube is going to be five inches from the bottom of the receiver tube and just some additional installation tips. This does require a minimum of seven inches clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear most portion of your tow vehicle. And the receiver opening should be flushed with the bumper or protruding from the rear of the vehicle for best fit. Finally, a two inch shocker air receiver will not fit a two and a 1/2 inch hitch even with the reducer sleeve as trucks with a two and a 1/2 inch hitch have deeper frames. A two and a 1/2 and shocker air receiver will fit a three inch hitch with a reducer sleeve. Well, that's going to conclude our look today. I hope it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..
