Electric, fifth-wheel landing gear set's motor has an IP-rated switch for fast, easy, and safe operation. Each leg is 33-1/2" tall, offers 19-7/8" of travel, and has a 15" drop leg for extra lift. Combined weight capacity is 6.5K.

Features:

  • Perfect for raising, leveling, and supporting your 5th-wheel trailer or RV
  • Direct-drive motor reduces strain on your jack and allows landing gear to lift with ease
    • No clutch that could slip
  • Single-speed motor won't trip circuits or cause problems with coach's electrical systems
    • IP-rated switch will not spark, so it can be mounted safely in bottle-gas area
  • Drop legs minimize jacking time and help to level the trailer on uneven ground
    • Legs adjust in 1" increments
  • Cage pins included to release drop legs
    • Upgrade to spring-loaded pull pins (LG-119113 - sold separately) for simpler drop leg release
  • Hand crank included for manual operation
  • Heavy-duty steel construction
  • Gearbox is housed in a corrosion-resistant aluminum body
  • Landing gear welds onto trailer frame
  • Set includes 2 jacks, gearbox, motor, switch, footplates, cross shaft, hand crank, and hardware
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Leg length: 33-1/2"
  • Total lift: 34-7/8"
    • Travel: 19-7/8"
    • Drop leg: 15"
  • Combined weight capacity: 6,500 lbs
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: Landing gear is designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer's weight, not to support the full GVWR of your trailer. Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer or RV during tire changes or service work because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing legs.

Stromberg Carlson's landing gear was designed with safety in mind. The motor, manufactured by Lippert, won't trip circuits or cause problems with the coach's electrical systems. In addition, the IP-rated switch will not spark, so it can be mounted safely in the bottle-gas area.

Convenience is also a hallmark of this product. An inner drop leg on each jack makes leveling easy by allowing the jack feet to reach the ground quickly and at varying heights, saving time and thus reducing the draw on the trailer's battery. The cage pins that secure the drop legs can be replaced with spring-loaded pull pins (LG-119113 - sold separately) that allow for single-handed operation. Large, rectangular, pivoting footpads are included, but you can use larger, 9-inch-diameter pads (LG-210475 - sold separately) instead if you often camp on soft ground.

This system and its parts were designed to be compatible with most of the other fifth-wheel landing gear on the market, including Atwood and Lippert. If you're replacing your old landing gear, you can install this set from Stromberg Carlson using your existing mounting hardware.

  • Replacement Landing Gear for 1998 Carriage Carri-Lite RK 732
Hi James; the better option would be the Bulldog # BD500162 you were looking at. You can add the Motor and Switch Kit for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear # LG-217884 to the Bulldog which will give it the same functionality as the # LG-4 while saving you some money. If you want a crank handle to go with it you can use the # BD500203. The distance between the mounting brackets (underside of top bracket to top of lower bracket as shown in the diagram) is 17-1/2 inches. If this matches what...

  • Replacement Landing Gear Legs Needed for a 2004 Arctic Fox 29.5E 5th Wheel Trailer
I can give you some information to help you determine if the Lead # LC179013 and Follow # LC179014 legs will fit your 2004 Arctic Fox 29.5E 5th wheel, but we don't really have a database to pull from when it comes to OEM part numbers on trailers. Both legs have an overall height of 32" with an outer tube width of 2-1/2" and an inner tube width of 2-1/4". The total travel distance is 21" with a 16" drop leg travel. To determine if these will fit directly to the brackets that you currently...

  • Troubleshooting Landing Gear Not Lifting 5th Wheel
Any powered landing gear or powered tongue jack will draw less power as it legs descend down toward the ground and much more as soon as they make contact and encounter resistance. This is a normal occurrence. In the same way, any jack - even a manual hand-crank type - requires less power (or force) when lowering the trailer than when lifting it. The cause for your powered landing gear losing steam could be any of several possibilities. These include the trailer's battery not being rated...

  • Solution for Atwood Landing Gear Leg Needing Replacement
Hey Vince, Atwood is no longer in the RV jack business so there isn't a way to get any replacement components so the only solution would be an all new landing gear set like the # LG-4 which uses same mounting bracket dimension.

You could use the Landing Gear part # RVLG-8HDL as a replacement for what you have now on our 2011 Wildcat by Forest River. This will bolt right up in place of what you have and has plenty of capacity at 8,000 lbs so it will operate easily.

Hey John, I would recommend the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear set part # LG-4 which is a powered set like you have now but it has our highest weight rating at 6,500 lb so it would definitely not be wimpy like what you have now. What brand landing gear do you have now?

We can get you un-stranded! The correct follow leg for your landing gear is going to depend on how long it is. If your leg measures 29-1/2" (see attached photo), you would need replacement # LG-179014, which can be used with most landing gear sets Atwood, Venture, and Lippert models. The same is true of replacement # LG-177201, which you would use if your leg measured 33-1/2". I've attached a link to a video review for you to take a look at as well.

Hey Jeremy, the Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear part # LG-4 that you referenced would work great to replace what you have. Hello Edgar, We will definitely have some landing gear for you, but I do not have a database that supplies me with what is put on what trailer. That would be quite the long list! Based on my research the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set - Weld On - 34-7/8" Lift - 6,500 lbs # LG-4 should work as a great replacement. Here are some things to check: - Leg length: 33-1/2" - Total lift: 34-7/8" - Travel: 19-7/8" - Drop leg: 15" - Weld spots 19 1/2" apart You are more than welcome...

  • Are Landing Gear Legs for a 5th Wheel Trailer Brand Specific
The most important metric for selecting new landing gear legs for a 5th wheel trailer is the overall length of the outer tube. The two most common measurements are 29-1/2" and 33-1/2". If you select the correct replacement based on the outer tube length that will then most likely ensure that the mounting bracket lines up so no welding is required. If your trailer has outer tubes that are 29-1/2" long then you will want to use part # LG-3 but if your trailer has outer tubes that are 33-1/2"...

If your landing gear is electric then it could just be a switch or the battery could be bad. Having the battery tested will determine if it is the problem.
