Features to know about

Stay Stable on the Road: Rugged Steel Build with 5,000 lbs Capacity

When your camper is on uneven ground, maintaining stability becomes crucial. This scissor jack, constructed with sturdy steel, boasts a 5,000 lbs capacity that keeps RVs and travel trailers secure. It's perfect for a Fifth Wheel Camper, RV Motorhome, or Teardrop Camper, offering the unwavering stability you need on the road.

Adapt to Any Terrain: Extendable 24-Inch Lift

Facing soft or uneven surfaces on your travels? The Leveling Scissor Jack rises from as low as 4 inches to a substantial 24 inches, allowing you to adapt easily to varying terrains. Whether you're facing a steep incline or a low valley, it provides the lift needed for safe and level parking.

Versatile Installation Options: Bolt-On or Weld-On Design

Don't let unique frame designs limit you. Whether you prefer a bolt-on for quick removal or a weld-on for permanent stability, this jack accommodates both. It's tailored for easy installation on Fifth Wheel Campers, Pop Up Campers, and more, with a bow-tie base ensuring steadfast placement.

Safety First: Not for Full GVWR Support

Sometimes it’s about knowing what your equipment can’t do. This jack is designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer's weight, perfect for keeping things level but not intended for full vehicle lifts. This specific focus keeps your adventures safe and worry-free.

Crank It Up: Optional Crank Handle for Ease

Swapping between multiple tools on the campsite can be a hassle. That's why you can pair this jack with the JCH-1 crank handle for seamless height adjustments. Although sold separately, this intuitive option is a handy companion on any road trip.

Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the Leveling Scissor Jack Set

Speaker 1: Today you'll be getting a look at and seeing how to install the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack Set, with a quantity of two, part number JSC-24. They're also available in a quantity of one, with part number JSC-24-IND.You can bet on this pair of jacks. These scissor jacks from Stromberg Carlson are great for stabilizing and leveling your camper. As you can see, if your trailer is out of level, you can use your scissor jacks to level it. Check it out. Much better.

As you can see, without your scissor jacks engaged, there's a lot of movement in your trailer. With your scissor jacks engaged, all that extra movement is gone. They're adjustable between four and 24 inches and they have a 5000 pound weight capacity per jack. You can easily raise and lower them with the included crank handle. It's going to work out great on most surfaces.

As you can see, we're on concrete here. The bow-tie base is going to keep it steady even on soft surfaces. They're a bolt-on or weld-on installation. We'll go ahead and show you how to bolt them on now. Here you can see our old rusted out stabilizer jack. It's bent.

We're going to be replacing it. I've gone ahead and removed the old stabilizer. Let's bring in our new one. With our new one, you can see it's got multiple mounting locations. It's completely universal.

Now, you may or not be able to use your same mounting holes and locations. What you need to do is hold it up and figure out where it's going to work best. Now, once you've found a good location to install your stabilizer jack, you want to be sure that you can still easily access your drive nut, which is going to raise and lower your stabilizer jack. You'll want to raise your jack up to where it's making contact with your frame where you want to install it. Then you can mark your holes. Now, there are six holes on each side. I'm only going to be using four total, two on each side. You can use whichever holes work out best for you. Once you've got your holes marked, go ahead and move the jack out of the way, and then you can begin drilling out your holes. I'm going to be drilling out quarter-inch holes. If you'd like to, you can use a pilot bit and then drill out your final size. All right. With all those drilled out, you can go ahead and install your stabilizer jack. You will have to provide your own hardware.I'm just using some quarter-inch bolts with some flat washers and lock nuts. Now you can bring your jack back in and align your holes. Now you'll just loosely install all your hardware. Now we can tighten up our hardware. Now you can raise up your jack and it's ready for when you need it. That's going to complete your look at the Stromberg Carlson Leveling Scissor Jack set.

  • Will Installing Scissor Jacks at Front of Camper Help Over Just In Rear
Hey Dennis, do you have scissor jacks at the rear of you camper? I am not sure exactly which jacks you were referring to. If so, running a set at the front of the camper too would help.

  • Difference Between Scissor Stabilizer Jacks for RV
A few of our scissor jacks have different weight capacities. For example, the part # UF48-979002 has a 6,500 lb capacity, the part # TJSC-24 has a 2,500 capacity and the # JSC-24-IND has a 5,000 lb capacity.

  • Can Scissor Jacks be Bolted or Welded On and Do They have to Face a Certain Way
Scissor jacks such as # JSC-24-IND used for stabilization of a trailer/RV can be welded or bolted on. However, if you choose to weld them on using a professional welder is recommended. There is no specific way they have to be placed. I have seen them with the scissor arms perpendicular to the frame and parallel with the frame. It all depends on the area they are being mounted and the available space. You will want as much contact with the mounting flanges on the jacks as you can get.

  • Stabilizer Scissor Jack with 5000lb Capacity and 24” Lift For Use With Power Drill
I have a solution for you, but when I called Lippert to confirm the size of the bolt on the Lippert Components Scissor Jack # LC285325 they informed me that this particular jack should not be raised or lowered using a power tool, but it does have a 3/4" nut. For that reason, I recommend instead going with the Stromberg Carlson # JSC-24-IND which works with a standard 3/4" socket. If you needed a matching socket for this jack, you can use the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket which is an adapter for...

  • Replacement Recommendation for a BAL 24002C Scissor Jack
Hey Traci, The Leveling Scissor Jack # JSC-24-IND from Stromberg Carlson is the best replacement option we have for your BAL 24002C scissor jack since it has the same 24" lift and 5,000 lb capacity specs. This doesn't have the exact same mounting bolt pattern has the BAL line of scissor jacks, but I'm attaching a dimensional photo of the mounting holes for you to use as a comparison. If you want an exact replacement for what you currently have, you'll need to reach out to BAL RV directly.

  • Can ARK Stabilizer Jacks Rotate 180 Degrees
Both of the ARK stabilizer jacks # ARK94FR and # ARK87FR can rotate 90 degrees forward and back so in a way it is 180 degrees like you asked about. The difference is the # ARK94FR has a square tube and # ARK87FR has a round tube. These are both going be quicker to use than raising and lowering the # JSC-24-IND which require a lot more cranking.

I spoke with my contact at Stromberg Carlson about replacement parts for the scissor jacks we offer like part # JSC-24-IND, and they told me they do not offer any replacement parts. I recommend replacing your current jack with the # JSC-24-IND. This is a 5,000 lb leveling jack that has measures 4 inches when retracted and 24 inches when extended. I went to our warehouse and measured the Leveling Scissor Jack # JSC-24-IND. The bolts on the # JSC-24-IND are 2 inches apart center to center, just like they are in your photo. When closed, the stand measures 4 inches from the base to the top of the mounting bracket. It's very possible that yours, as an older jack, is simply looser when closed than the new jack, and that this is the cause of the additional 1/2 inch length on your current jack. If anything, a new jack should provide you...

In regards to trailer scissor jacks like Leveling Scissor Jack # JSC-24-IND, these simply need to be bolted to the frame either at the front or the rear. I don't have installation advice on these for any one specific trailer but so long as you don't have anything else on the frame that would be in the way of these jack there should be no issues with mounting. I have attached a review video for you which goes over the installation in more detail.

  • Leveling Jack Options For A 2020 Forest River Rockwood Mini-lite
Hello Harvey. Our etrailer brand scissor jacks like the # TJSCHD-24-4 use a black powder coating that, in my experience, is quite durable. I have seen them last many years with proper usage. That said, with where most scissor jacks are located on a camper, they are very prone to catching scratches from road debris and rocks. So while the coating is durable, enough scratches over time can compromise the coating if left unchecked. My suggestion is to just make sure the jacks stay clean, and...

Arc welding can possibly damage electrical devices on the RV so if this is what you plan to do I'd recommend disconnecting the wiring from the batteries etc. A safer method would be welding with a torch.
