These custom frame-mounted tie-downs create solid attachment points that keep your camper locked to the truck’s most rigid structure—the frame. That lowers the camper’s center of gravity and spreads its weight evenly, so it stays stable even when crosswinds hit or the road gets rough. The setup avoids the top-heavy sway you get with rail or bumper mounts, which means you get safer, smoother handling whether you’re cruising highways or backroads.
The front brackets bolt to pre-existing holes in the frame, so there’s little to no drilling and no need for modification. Because they mount tight to the frame, ground clearance stays nearly unchanged. The kit includes two front tie-downs and hardware, giving you everything needed for a clean, solid fit that looks factory once installed.
Each tie-down is made from heavy-duty steel finished with a black powder coat to resist rust and corrosion. Whether you’re hauling through wet winters or dusty terrain, that finish helps the metal stay strong and looking good over time. The welded construction gives you confidence that your tie-downs can take years of hauling without bending or weakening.
When the trip’s done, pull the arms out of the brackets and they’re barely visible under the truck. The flush mounting keeps your setup neat and uncluttered, so you don’t have bulky hardware hanging down when you’re driving without the camper.

Each arm has two pin holes so you can extend it farther out to clear fenders or sidewalls and line up your turnbuckles at the right angle. That lets you tension the system correctly and keep the camper held from multiple angles for a firm, balanced hold all around.

These tie downs are sill working as advertised. I have travelled over 20,000 mi with them in various conditions with about 10 of that time in dirt roads or 4wd roads. Nothing too crazy, but with my camper and these tied downs I am confident that the camper will remain attached and be secure. It hardly moves around at all. They are worth the money and I can still remember how easily they installedvery welll thought out design and installation!

Hi Jim! I can see why that would be frustrating for sure. The good news is you usually don’t have to do anything drasticmost fixes come down to slightly repositioning the exhaust system rather than fully relocating it. That can mean loosening and adjusting a bolt-on hanger, adding a small spacer, or even tweaking the hanger position just enough to create some clearance. I’ll drop this article here since it walks through a few simple ways to fix it step-by-step, but overall you’re on the right track it’s typically just a matter of giving the exhaust a little more room so nothing is rubbing or under tension. This help article is about a hitch install but it still applies here.

Glad to hear you are liking them, Milton! And I agree, the TorkLift tie downs are superior to the HappiJac tie downs. They are just more secure and heavier duty. At least in my opinion. And that sounds like quite the trip! Was it just a camping trip or did you do some fishing and or hunting?

I reached out to the manufacturer. They advised that they think it is a combination of the Northern light camper anchor point location being situated so far back on the camper and possibly the front of the camper not being all the way against the bulkhead of the bed if it is moving forward still. Otherwise, everything looks typical of a truck camper and truck installation. If it has any room to slide forward, it will in a sudden braking situation.

Jenny thanks for your reply and diligence in reaching out to TorkFit. The NL camper does have forward bumpers for abutting the bulkhead. However when bulkhead contact is made the body of the my 21 Silverado makes contact with the fiberglass body of the camper. The pressure from a recent ‘sudden stop’ and ‘slide forward’ created enough pressure to chip paint on the truck. The bumpers make contact with the bulkhead about 10”-12” above the bed-bulkhead connection. The 90* corner at bottom, this should be the strongest area. I will install stop chocks at future loadings. I’ll also attempt to possibly install the TorkFits in a more vertical position. Thanks.

They are starting to rust significantly. That is very disappoint considering the very high cost of these.
