Glacier Cable Tire Chains - Ladder Pattern - Roller Links - Manual Tensioning - 1 Pair
I just tested these tire cables for fit. Installing them is not as easily done as the etrailer video indicates. So, to all of the reviewers who've not even tried them on yet (how can one usefully review an unused product?), I'd suggest that you practice doing so before you need them. These cables are for a front wheel drive, 1997 Honda Accord wagon and are not my first tire chains. The installation process is a bit different than that shown in the video. Installing them alone, in ideal conditions, is somewhat awkward and time consuming. Installing them on a chain installation pull-out, with your gloves on, when it's very cold, windy and snowing, is even more awkward and time consuming. Anyway, today it was warm at about 30 degrees F. Still, it took me about 20-30 minutes to get them on and install the chain tighteners (the chains needed the tighteners for a good fit as they were a bit too loose without them on the 195/60 R15 tires). There being no snow, yet, I settled for test driving them, at 20-30 mph, on the dirt road that passes by my house. They stayed in place and needed no readjustment. Durability is still a question, thus, 4 stars rather than 5. The test finished, the chains were removed, cleaned, sprayed with WD-40 to prevent rust, then packed back into the included carrying bag. My first line of attack regarding driving on snow and ice is always an excellent set of winter tires. The chains are simply back-up for those very rare times when the tires aren't enough and/or the authorities won't allow you to continue on your way without having tire chains installed on your vehicle.
The front end hitch for my 2013 ford 150 arrived very quickly and fit perfectly without any drilling. I did have to eliminate the lower forward wind diverter and only needed a small notch out of the upper plastic shield. It took me about two hours with the help of my 4 year old grandson. Probably would have taken me about an hour and a half without the help. It looks and works great except even though maneuvering the trailer is very easy , the visibility behind the boat I'm pushing is non existent. I need forward view mirrors instead of rear view mirrors. I recommend this hitch and etrailer.

Good snow chain pack - appreciate the video tutorials
After receiving the chains, we followed the installation instructions and video. The chains didn’t seem to fit right, so we contacted the company by phone for assistance. We received no call back. We called again and were advised to send an email with a photo and someone would get back. Nothing. We re-sent the email. Nothing. We’ve not used the chains so cannot comment on quality. We can comment on customer support. Nothing.

Made my KIA Soul goes places it should not have . Stayed tight and in place. Put about 200 miles on then in heavy , light and ice. Good steering control.
Ordered these chains from etrailer.com for my 2007 Prius. First order from this company. Got a heads up call from Preston at etrailer saying there might be delay in shipping ( there wasn’t). Then followed up with call saying they had shipped. Company is obviously ‘customer satisfaction’ focused. Based on my experience with this one order from etrailer I would highly recommend it. Haven’t had to use the chains yet but I know they are quality (Thule) and will work.

Purchased the Thule chains after returning chains bought from Wal-Mart one year ago. The Wal-Mart chains were difficult to install and one broke immediately. When I spoke to Ricky one year ago to purchase the chains, he was helpful as we discussed the different chain options. The Thule chains fit the car well and are easy to install. Recently used them over the Thanksgiving 2016 weekend in Yosemite National Park. We drove 1- 1.5 hours at 25 - 30 mph with the chains from Yosemite Valley to the outside of the park. The roads had been plowed one time and the drive out of Yosemite was up and down as well as winding roads. We did not slip one time. Chains were required and a life saver. Also used the chains in Sequoia National park. The chains did their job as we climbed the mountains into the park. Highly recommend the Thule chains.
I am a 63-year-old woman with a small frame and arthritis in both hands. I just did a practice run putting on the chains. 1) could not open case, needed to find a clippers to clip the little arrowhead catch at the top. 2) chains were EXTREMELY tangled together and took a long time to untangle -- why don't they package them in internal plastic bags? 3) first attempt to put chains on was a failure because they were still a bit knotted. I found that holding up the circle and letting the chains hang down like a basketball net, then carefully unhooking the circle and keeping all the chains pointing to the interior of the arc, on only one side of the blue "hoop", worked best. After that it was a snap. In spite of weak hands I could get enough tension on the chains (looked just like the picture in the video) and after driving the car forward slightly I adjusted it one notch tighter without problem. Had a couple of snags getting it off, and would appreciate instructions on the video. Haven't yet test the chains in snow so can't give a full rating of the product. Both the Review video and the Installation video show instructions but the installation video is a bit easier to follow.

Well, I would say a little harder to put on correctly than advertised, but I called customer support and they helped me. Also watching all of the videos helped because each one was worded a little differently. Definitely would suggest one or two dry runs before you are in the elements. Important to realize to slide the plastic coated cable to the backside of the tire and center the chains after connecting the plastic coated cable and the small red hook. Once I figured this out I was able to almost perfectly center the chains (at least on one tire). On the other tire I couldn't get it perfectly centered (see photos). After about an 1/8 of a mile of very low speed driving it still didn't center but maybe with more driving at higher speeds it would. Also important to remember to have the yellow end of the chain on your right hand side beofore sliding behind the tire and making the first connection. One question I still have is how tight to pull the tension cable after you put it through the stop device. Every video seems a little bit different as to how tight you pull the cable by hand before connecting it to the tensioning device. As far as taking them off I tried four times to line up my car perfectly so I wouldn't have to drive over the chains after disconnecting them but this was not possible for me. So, with the plastic coated cable on top I just disconnected the connections in reverse and then put all the hooks and components off to the side and drove off/over the chains, which seemed to work fine. Will see how they work in the snow and ice but I'm hopeful they will do well.
Very easy to install on my 2011 Prius. This is the first (and only) chain set I've owned. Use for weekend trips in the Sierra during snow season and it's been much easier to put on/take off than expected based on stories I'd head about snow chains.

Excellent Team Parperdness ,On Time. Thanks, etrailer.com
I won't be able to test the quality of the tire chains until winter. That is, however, if we get any snow. The price was very good and the order process and tracking system were one of the best I've ever used. Good job, E-Trailer! Doug at Anderson Island, Washington

Konig K-Summit Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - Self Tensioning - 1 Pair
Hands down best chains on the market. No better feeling than pulling up next to people doing the chain shuffle and being done by time your hands even get cold! These chains payed for themselves the day they showed up. K-summit chains allowed me to plow through 16 inches of snow in my VW passat to get my child to the hospital in an emergency situation. Only issue I've had is I drive crazy in the snow and threw off my chains twice. Easy on and easy off. Perfect for people that live in the mountains. I put on and take off 3-6 times per day with no issues. Absolutely love them. 6 out of 5 stars!
Great product. Easy to install!

Konig Easy Fit Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - Self Tensioning - 1 Pair
I've owned four sets of Thule Easy-Fit CU-9 tire chains over the years. I need them because they're fast and easy to mount and fast and easy to remove and I often have to mount or remove the chains while out on the road in snow. There have been times when the red cable froze on one of the chains and I couldn't remove it. I couldn't spread the hoop from behind the tire and it was a real headache. I had cut the red cable once ending the life of the chain and other times had to leave the car hoping for warmer weather to unfreeze the red cable so I could remove the chain. These days and for the past few years I lubricate the red cable with silicone spray twice per winter. Lubricating the cable keeps the red cable from freezing-up. Unless the CU-9's have been redesigned not too long ago to give a better performance regarding the red cable I cannot give a five-star review. I'd leave only 3 stars. These tire chains are way overpriced. They also rust very easily making a mess inside the storage bag and that's with keeping them dry in between uses. Other than the red cable and the rust these chains have they have always performed well offering good traction even on ice. However still, I'd only give three stars.
Positives: These chains are very easy to put on and take off. They are far superior to any other solution in deep snow. Neutral: Make sure that you have read the instructions, and practiced using them before you need them. Negatives: The thick bar section will shake your car badly if it's driven on parts of the road that don't have deep snow. It's a bit worse than chains with more similar sections. Conclusion: Buy the chains. Use the chains. But also install Winter tires.

Konig Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - Self Tensioning - 1 Pair
I purchased these snow chains for a trip through the Sierra during heavy February snows (25"+ per night), from California to central Nevada and back. They are, in comparison to older styles of snow chains, easier to put on and take off. The tight Mini Cooper wheel well makes it a bit harder than it needs to be, but application and removal, in a blizzard, was fairly straightforward. And that is the only nice thing I have to say about these, because they broke in four places (three on one chain, one on the other) in under 30 miles. At no time did I drive on bare pavement or exceed 30 mph, and they broke. The snow in the Sierra was so bad that it took 8.5 hours to get through Donner Pass, which is exactly when I did not need to hear snow chains break, thwack against my wheel well, and then have to use baling wire (sure am glad I'm a sheep shearer and had THAT in the car) to hold them together so I don't end up stranded in the mountains. Somehow, after just a few miles, the first "break" was a bend in the first red hook to which you connect. It was bent to the extent of being unusable and, a critical connection, I had to use baling wire to enforce/replace that red hook. On both tires, chain links broke at different times, one of which got sucked into the wheel well and, fortunately, did not wrap itself around my axle. I was able to jack up the car, remove the wheel, and get the bit of chain out. I could go on, but you get the idea. It is NOT what you need in the Sierra at night in a freezing blizzard, with no shoulder on the side of the road. Incredibly disappointed and relieved I could make these chains last long enough to get me below 2,000 feet elevation. The experience has, at least, solved a marital dispute: We'll be getting a 4WD vehicle.
These tire chains have done what I need them to do! I especially appreciate the self-tension system and highly recommend investing in that added feature. I drive a 2WD sedan in a mountain town, and I have a long driveway that can be especially challenging to navigate in the snow, but these chains get me up and down without difficulty.

They flat out work! Early morning commute after snow storm before the scrapers, they work. Secondary roads that never get scraped, they work. They're a must have in these situations. Easy on and easy off application.
Seem like great chains for the price. Have only tried one on at this point. 195/70R14

The Konig TH00023090 tire chains fit great on my 2013 Toyota Corolla. The installation was simple and they really perform well on my snow covered gravel road. From a customer service standpoint, I am very impressed with eTrailer. After the purchase online I was updated via email with shipping information. Once I received the tire chains, a customer service representative reached out via email with an overview video and an installation video. I am super impressed by this company!
I bought these chains for my 2013 Mazda 3 for a trip into the mountains. I didn't think I would actually need them that early in the year, but eventually I was required to use them. When I unboxed the chains I was a little puzzled since I ordered 'Thule' chains but received a box labeled 'König'. I was a little afraid having received the wrong product, but apart from the branding the product looked identical to what I ordered and some online research confirmed that Thule and König are associated. Would have been nice to have a notice about that though. I practiced putting on the chains once in best conditions at home. It wasn't really that complicated and the instructions are easy to follow. I'd recommend doing such a practice run though, since you don't want to face this for the first time at the roadside in the snow. A few weeks later I was returning from a trip into the mountains and one pass required chains (or other traction equipment, but for me that meant chains). I got the chains out and went over the instructions again and then started putting the chains on. I was glad I had done the practice run at home and got the chains on fairly quickly without bigger trouble (and I saw plenty of people at the roadside struggling with theirs or paying for that service). With that I made it across the pass. On the other side of the pass I found taking the chains off more troublesome than putting them on. The chains itself worked great and it wasn't a problem to loosen and detach them but it's a little inconvenient since the chains need to be in the right position to come off the wheel (it's all in documented in the instructions though). I guess with a 2nd person directing the driver when to stop it would be very simple, on my own I had to move the car back and forth tiny bits to get the positioning right (i.e. i was jumping in and out of the car moving it a bit and checking tire/chain position).

Arrived on time for a big trip. I like that your website lets you pick make, model, and tire size to be sure of the fit. Thanks
I tried them on; and they fit well. I'll be ready for my subdivision's icy conditions next time. Thanks for the rapid service, and here are some photos from the test today; though you may not want to use the tension photo, because the clips should have been rotated to the next section

ISSE Classic Snow Socks - Size 62 - 1 Pair
Purchased for the safety of traveling through mountains out west. Have to have it in slippery conditions or state patrol won’t let you proceed. Light to pack, easy stowage, relatively easy to install, but unlike chains is tough fabric. Unsure how effective they work as we did not have need to use. More of insurance to have than not.
Not impressed with this product at all. If you are driving on snow, meaning absolutely no pavement or rough surface, they may be useful... but a short distance after the chain requirement point mine were shredded and all but useless.

pewag Snox Pro Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Links - Self Tensioning - 1 Pair
Only had to use the tire chains once last winter for a short distance over the coast range in Oregon, which I think is a success. The chains appear to be well made, are easy to install and they performed well. I would buy them again.
Put these chains on before you need them! Once wheel well gets packed with snow and road salt, putting these chains on is not pleasant. Once they're on, they work great. Drove up to 25mph down a very windy mountain road with high confidence. They popped right off when done and stowed away perfectly. I'm very happy with my purchase.

These are the first chains I have bought for a car. Bought them in preparation for a trip to Canada this winter and to have just in case this winter around Kansas City. I was worried about how difficult chains would be to install on a Dodge Dart but these were super easy to install, 5 min per tire my first time putting them on. They fit tightly and I can’t wait to try them out in the snow. Customer service was also great with my order. They were delivered several days before they were suposed to and sent me a personal email letting me know they were shipped out early. This was a great touch considering most online orders involve no personal contact from the business. I Will definitely purchase from etrailer again because of the service.
I always order snow chains from etrailer.com. It's easy to find what size you need and they always get delivered earlier than expected! Great company.

Fit perfectly on my toyota sienna 20in rims when I thought tire chains weren’t possible with that tire model. I had asked a question on their site to confirm that theyd fit and they were super responsive. I received the chains fast and they were good about emailing me notifications. Chains worked great especially with tensioner, I just used some thick foam padding to prevent any possible scratches to my wheels. Very happy with my purchase and would def buy from E-trailer again!
I ordered the snow cables for my Subaru 2018 Outback and received them in 3 days! Your customer service is outstanding! I reordered a second set and received them in 4 days. I just had a chance to use them in Atlanta when we had ice and snow. I used only one set on the front and they worked perfectly. i watched the etrailer installation video for a Subaru and it made the easy to install. It took me less then 5 minutes in my garage. (Outside in the snow and ice might take longer). I drove around Atlanta in the ice and snow and the cables performed flawlessly. I plan to buy a set for my daughter. Thanks again!

Now that the holidays and medical scares are over. The chains came sooner than expected. I was able to fit them to the trailer tires! So we are ready for more snow! I read that vehicles with trailers over 10,000 lbs have to have chains for one axle of the trailer, (when chains are required). Hopefully I won't have to use them! THANK YOU ETRAILER!
Purchased Titan Tire Chains for Wide Base Tires - Ladder Pattern - Square Link part TC3229S for a 2018 Ram 2500 with OEM 275/70/R18 tires. These are great chains and very heavy-duty for wide base tires. I mounted them on the rear axle of the Ram and discovered the chain in close proximity to the P-Brake cable, too close for my comfort. I believe the wide base chains are too wide for these OEM tires and fit was pretty loose. One could gain more clearance near the E-Brake by attaching the inside hook to the end (last) link. Then using a chain a tightener do your best to take up all the outside slack. I just was not comfortable with the overall fit so I send these chains back. Very painless return made easy by etrailer because they emailed a return UPS label. After reviewing tech info and reviews I purchased Titan Alloy Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link part TC2533 for the 2018 Ram 2500. These are regular duty and a better fit. These chains offer a lot more clearance for the P-Brake cable. They are a cleaver design, have great carrying case and are fairly quick to install. I have not purchased winter tires for this vehicle so the Ram need chains to pull a travel trailer up and down our snow-covered road.

Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w Cams - Ladder Pattern - V Bar Links - Assisted Tensioning - 1 Pair
I had a heck of a time trying to get chains. No where locally, had the size I needed so I had to go online. etrailer.com was actually quick and easy to use. Found the ones I needed and got them ordered. It said it wasn't going to be delivered till the 27 or 28th... they came in on the 24th! Because of the fast delivery I was able to use them today and boy, did I need them! Snow, slippery, the road had kind of a step climb up to the job. Had a couple spots where I had to back up and take a different approach. Telling you, these chains were great! Thanks again for the quick delivery!
These are the best chains, hands down. I live off grid in an area where people constantly lose their vehicles or get them stuck. I need these half of the year and I've never been stuck, even with multiple feet of snow and ice. For most people I don't think you'll ever need replacement parts but for people like me they're easy to repair, diagnose, tighten etc. It's worth noting that you need some grip strength to tighten the cams, I haven't had issues but if you're a woman I'd recommend the "T" shape cam tightener etrailer sells so you can torque it better. It's important to note that these work great with even super knobby tires, so don't shy away if you need this style of chain. I can't recommend these enough, if you're a road traveler this is not the product for you but if you're on the farm, using this for a plow truck on an icy dirt road, going up snowy hills, going offroad in the snow, are camping in snowy wilderness etc this is for you. Just make sure you don't spin, because you can easily snap cross bars this way. etrailer is fantastic, as an aside and has been super helpful.

As you can see here to connect the cross chains here to our side chains there are the metal keepers, and on the backside they are flat. The flat side is the side you want on your tire and on the side wall so it doesn't damage your tire. On one side you have open chains on the front and back, and on the other end, on the backside you have a hook and on the front side you have a fastener that goes with the chains to tension your chains up and make them nice and tight around your tire. Here's what our new Titan chains look like installed on our Prius. As you can see, nice and secure fit on both sides.

Now here's what our Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chain looks like on our Prius. As you see, nice snug fit here on the tire that's going to give you added traction in inclement weather, whether it be snow or ice. As you can see, it has rollers here at the cross sections, that's going to dig into the snow and ice to give you you're traction. It is completely adjustable with the links here on the front and back, and if you do have excess links here there is a keeper to hold them to keep them from spinning around and damaging your vehicle while going on the road. The cable style chain provides good traction in light snow. The rollers wrap around the cables to form cross chains that give you traction and the low profile design makes for a smooth ride.
Set up: Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains on a 2007 Toyota Prius

The small link size helps to contribute to it's good, smooth ride. As you can see, the connections are very easy to make. On the tensioner side, it just slides right in and as you can see, there's a nice little groove there for the link to go in and give us some good holding force. There's a rubber tensioner that's already connected to it, so you don't have to worry about any kind of after market solution for that. To get our chain installed, we're simply going to feed the end around the back side of our tire, going to come out of this side for us.
