Question:
Hello, 2017 Prius 2 stock all weather tires. I need a safe and budget friendly solution in the area of snow/ice chains. I am driving from southern california up the coast to Whitefish, Montana as soon as I find a solution. While I am pretty good at research Im a bit overwhelmed and completely new to all of this so I really need someone who knows to tell me what to do. Please help. Lol. Thank you,

According to the owner's manual for your 2017 Toyota Prius, tire chains must be installed on the front two wheels and must be less than 3 mm thick for the side chains and less than 4 mm thick for the cross chain.
Unfortunately, none of our tire chains have a link thickness less than 3 mm on the sides but I do still have an option for you. The ISSE Hybrid Snow Socks part # TCH62 are an excellent alternative to tire chains for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance. The socks provide good traction in both snow and ice. They are very easy to install and will not void the warranty on your vehicle. As long as you have either of the standard tire sizes that came on your Prius from the factory (195/65-15 or 215/45-17) then they will work well for you.
I have attached a review video of the snow socks for you to take a look at as well. If you have a different tire size please let me know what that size is and I would be glad to offer additional recommendation for you.
