Question:

Need confirmation if Thule CG-9 Size 080, #2004205080 is correct snow chain for a 2015 Prius. Also, owners manual says to use cables instead of chains, so that is a concern also. Please advise asap as we need to receive chains by 12/30.

When it comes to use of tire chains the auto maker gets the final word. Toyota indicates in their online manual (pages 182/3/4) for the 2015 Toyota Prius that FRONT tires can be fitted with special low-profile S Class type chains for speeds up to 30-mph. S Class chains come in both cable and chain types. The correct size will vary depending on the tire size on the car. Do check your own printed manual in case it has different information.

Your Prius left the factory with either of two tire sizes, P195/65-15 or P215/45-17. Check your tire sidewall for the tire size and then use the linked page to select your size. The Konig chains you referenced # TH04115080 will fit the smaller P195/65-15 tires but not the larger size. For Thule chains to fit tires in size P215/45-17 please refer to the linked page to see their cost-effective diamond-pattern chain set # TH01221090 which is S Class compatible.
