Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
First-time rack buyer / owner / installer. The rack arrived in a timely fashion, maybe a day or 2 ahead of schedule. It was well packaged. I’m LOVING this bike rack. It was easy to put together and to mount on my new Honda Passport. Thus far, no squeaks in my 2” receiver. Hardest part of initial set-up is figuring out the best way to position two bikes. Trial & error and some patience. The directions weren’t clear as to where the 2 left-over screws went. I found the answer in another review and have posted a pic in case others have the same problem (photo with pen pointing at screw). These screws go in the underneath side of both of the folding arms. They appear to keep the wheel wells from sliding off in case in you drive with an empty, un-folded rack, and forgot to tighten down the wheel wells. The folding arm push / pull pins can be difficult at times. I coated the tips with some lube. That and a little jiggling seems to solve that issue. I guess it’s better for the pins to be snug vs popping right out. I added a small Master lock to the hitch pin (in lieu of the provided cotter pin) as a theft deterrent. I read that a 3/16 shackle lock will fit into the bike clamp down arms to also act as a deterrent. I had an old 3/16 lock that did snugly fit and appeared to be locked. HOWEVER, I yanked on the lock and it came open as there isn’t quite enough clearance for the shackle to lock. I discovered that longer 3/16 shackle locks are hard to find. Have attached a photo of the lock that actually fits and works (Ace Hardware). One lock on the upper clamp down arm will secure both arms as the lower arm can’t be removed without removing the upper arm. The clamp down arms appear to be coated to prevent damage to your bike. I’ve tried a simple rag and ultimately settled on pool noodle pieces as a precautionary measure. I CAN NOT open my tailgate (regardless of whether or not the rack is fold up and in the bike carry position). If that’s a concern for you, then spring for the more costly titling version. My back-up camera still functions.
The Swagman XTC-2 platform bike carrier arrived very quickly from etrailer and in good shape, the actual carrier box is inside another shipper box, which I'm sure helped with its condition. Assembly was relatively quick and painless, even though the instructions could be a little more thorough. Installing the carrier on the back of our Jeep Patriot also was quick, it helps to have an extra ratchet & 3/4" socket laying around for just this purpose. Installing the bikes takes a little patience and trial and error the first time you try and put them on the carrier. It's easy enough to adjust the wheel holders to fit the wheelbase of your bikes, but for us at least, the challenge was trying to swing the vertical support bar up into position after putting on the first bike (closest to the Jeep). We couldn't angle the bike enough toward the Jeep to have the bar clear the bike. We learned that the easiest way to secure the first bike was to remove the ratcheting frame hooks altogether, put the bike in the carrier, swing up the vertical support bar, put in the pin, and then slide one of the frame hooks down on the bar. The outside bike is much easier because you can set the bike in the carrier at whatever angle you need, not being limited by the back of the vehicle. One thing we did to protect the bike frames was to use some foam pipe insulation as cushion between the frame hook and the frame (see pictures). Once you get a system for installing the bikes, it is very quick to load/unload them. The rack seems to be well made and doesn't wiggle excessively when traveling. All in all a good product for a good price, would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a platform bike carrier.

Rhino-Rack Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
I purchased this bike rack a year ago and I use it A LOT. I had to buy and install a stabilizer because without it, the unit would sway back and forth even without a bike on it (very noisy). This makes removal more cumbersome but since I keep the hitch on year round it doesn't matter to me. The tilting function is fabulous allowing easy use of my RAV4 hatchback. I can even tilt it down with a bike on it. I got the 2 bike hitch. Plenty of room for two bikes to fit without rubbing. Lastly, the hitch has a sizable through-hole on the bottom to thread a good sized cable so I can lock my bike up. Sturdy. I highly recommend.
The unit ‘s simplicity is a real plus. It takes less than 3 minutes to put the rack on the vehicle. It is well built and very durable and has a nice feature that allows you to open the rear hatch for SUV owners without removing the rack.

Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
I own a 2005 Jeep Wrangler X with 31x10.5x15 oversized tires and wheels. I installed B6196001 HighRock 4x4 Oversize Tire Carrier by Bestop to carry larger spare tire. I needed a bike carrier that would carry our two crusier bikes and clear my spare tire. After measuring, I ordered: -> S64650 - Swagman 2-bike carrier -> 80300 - 7" Hitch Adapter 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver -> RM-061 - Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches Our order arrived very quickly, etrailer.com upgraded the shipping. All these products arrived well packaged and without damage. In 15 minutes I had every thing assembled, installed on my Jeep and bikes loaded. The bike carrier is very well constructed, finish is excellent and easy to adjust. When adjusting wheel loops and loading bikes, make sure you pay attention to bike pedal position. I chose this extension because I did not want to use the adapter that comes with the bike carrier, I wanted as few parts as possible to keep rattles to a minimum and gives me more options for towing. The anti-rattle bolt/pin firmly secures the bike carrier to the extension and the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch keeps the extension adapter from rattling in the receiver. Road tested approximately 25 miles over rough city roads ( including railroad tracks ), county roads and highway. Bikes traveled very well without any rattles. I can remove my complete setup quickly, fold and put in rear of Jeep if desired. I am very well pleased with my purchase. Note to etrailer: Please consider offering Roadmaster Quiet Hitch in black to match receiver and accessories. Paul In the Land of Oz . . . Just South of the Yellow Brick Road!
I like the overall design of this rack, but unfortunately after hauling a couple bikes around for a while the point where the crossbar connects has apparently rounded off so the rack swings back and forth. I've used rope to tie the ends of the rack to the car to stop this from getting worse, but it's inconvenient. Note: the hitch connection itself is good and solid, but the point where the crossbar connects to the bar coming from the hitch has gotten loose and there's no way that I can see to tighten it.

Thule Hitching Post Pro Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches
Super sturdy and easy to use/install. Love the bolt hitch attachment, keeps the rack from swaying/wobbling. Attachment points are very solid and the anti swing clips keep your bikes from smashing into each other and the rack during fast starts and stops. I use for all types of bikes, road, mountain, cruiser, children's, etc.
The good: I like the way the bikes are held in and the ability to add the upright adapters to the bike frame holders. The straps are quality too. For a jeep with a spare tire, this is the perfect length to clear it. This rack is 5 stars from the bike holders to the base of it. The bad: the 2"receiver adapter and bolt are insufficient. I wish they made this in a solid 2" hitch. The entire setup is held into the receiver by a very short bolt. It only goes about half way into the receiver tube. So your hitch is only "secured" on one side. A hitch pin or bolt should go through the receiver tube completely imo so it can be secured on the other end with a retaining clip or nut. Because this only goes in the one side, the entire weight of the rack plus bikes are held tight to one side of the receiver by the undersized bolt and washer. A few bumps down the road and that bolt loosens. Now instead of distibuting the weight of the rack and bikes on the receiver and post, it's completely up to the bolt to keep you from losing the rack. The bolt threads get damaged too. I took this down a dirt road and nearly lost everything. I had to buy my own bolt with hd fender washers and lock washers to correct this. Thule should've provided this from the start. The current short bolt design where only one side of the receiver secures the rack is unacceptable. This rack is 1 star at best for the connection to the receiver.

Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Pearl
No buyer’s remorse here! After quite a bit of reading and comparing, I have no regrets about purchasing the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. Excellent product, great quality. I would purchase all over again. It is a solid rack that is esthetically impressive to boot.
I love this bike rack. I feel that my bikes are secure and it fits my road and mountain bikes. Also, I love the Pearl color as it matches my car.

SportRack Ridge Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Swing Away
Unit doesn't fit a Jeep Rubicon with a spare tire. I tried 4 times and contacted etrailer.com that the unit doesn't work as sold and they offered to sell me a 7 3/4 extension and reduce the load capacity 50%. The length of the 2" hitch needs to be 3" longer for a standard Rubicon to get past the spare. You not going to want to take your spare tire off for the hitch to work. It defeats the purpose. Customer service was excellent, however the product is a flawed design. Can't recommend this hitch. Its also heavy.
Solid rack for half the price of the name brands. Don’t waste your money! Thanks to the extensive reviews on etrailer and a free shipping promotion I took a chance and ordered this along with the three of their crossbars, anti rattle hitch pin and cable lock. All for well less than the name brand rack alone. Shipping was painful. Etrailer said it was in stock but then due to a delay with the manufacturer it took 35 days from order to arrival. I wasn’t in a hurry so I waited patiently, and etrailer reps emailed often to lmk they hadn’t forgotten. I thought some kind of reward for my extreme patience was in order- discount, gift card, free bag of chips- but they politely declined. Oh well. In the end it arrived when they (eventually) said it would, all in one box, in great shape. The rack was super easy to assemble. You’ll need a ratchet or two and you’ll need to crank those bolts to assemble- they don’t just “insert.” But otherwise it’s only a few steps; I had mine hanging on my truck in probably 15 minutes. Swings away and locks smoothly and requires no effort to do so. Everything feels quite sturdy and well made. No rattle on initial test drive either. This will be a once in a while rack at best for our family of four. We have two SUVs so I needed a rack that could get out of the way of the rear hatch WITH bikes on it. This will do that. And now I don’t need to stuff four dirty bikes into the back of my truck, getting them all tangled and scratched!

Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
The BEST bike carrier by far!! We are both in our 7th decade and even I alone (5’2” 120 lbs) can manage to attach this in my hitch without any issues. It’s so easy to load both our hybrid and e-bike and they are super secure. We love that it folds up small and wheels away when not in use. This bike carrier is worth every penny!!
This rack is perfect! eTrailer had it shipped and at my home in almost no time. I drove with it on the car today, and it was solid and secure. It's super easy to get on and off the hitch. I'm 5'1 and I was able to load the bike on with the ramp without a struggle. Thanks for the thorough video and comparison information. It made this purchase easy.

Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
I love this bike rack. It was easy to install, has zero problems/issues and my bike was always secure and safe. I did add a cable and lock to act as a theft deterrent while paying for gas, etc. The price is very reasonable compared to others in the market and e-trailers made every step of the purchase and install easy and as simple as one could hope for.
I was impressed with this bike rack from the minute I unpacked it. The assembly was simple & straight forward. I looked at quite a few bike racks & for the price point this product was hard to beat. It is well designed & the keyhole pins make it easy to remove & fold up when not carrying the bikes. The locking hitch pin & locking frame bars are convenient and fairly secure. I will add my cable lock to make the bikes even a little more tamper proof. So far I’m very happy with this his purchase. Now the test of time!

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado
Collin: Hey everyone. It's Collin here etrailer. And today, we have a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado. We're going to do a test of the Thule Hitching Post Pro. This is a four bike hanging style rack, so you're going to be able to get four bikes loaded up so you can haul them to and from your destination. What's really nice about the bike rack is that usually with these Colorado's, they do have smaller beds than a full size pickup, so you're going to be able to get all your cargo and other gear inside your truck bed while getting your bikes loaded on the outside.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado
Today in our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE four bike platform rack. Part number HR1400Z. Now a couple of features I want to show right off the bat is one, this two bike extension can be removed if you only want to take two bikes out. All you have to do is loosen up this anti rattle handle right here and that will loosen up this pin that you can take out and then pull the two bike extension off and that's gonna shorten the length added onto the back of your vehicle and take some of the weight off if you're only gonna take two bikes out.The other feature I want to show is that it can tilt away from the vehicle. We're just gonna come in here and remove this snapper pin. It might help to pick up on the back of the bike rack and then we're gonna pull that pin and let it tilt away.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado HR1450Z-FB
Today, on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-bike platform rack for fat bikes. Part number HR1450Z-FB. This 2-bike carrier comes with four cradles that'll fit your fat tire bikes up to 5" wide. We have two hook and loop straps. One that's on the back wheel right here, and we also have another one that's on the front wheel.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado HR1450Z-85-FB
Today in our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SC 4-Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes, with a cargo carrier added on. Part number HR1450Z-85-FB.Now right away, one of the features that we're gonna point out is that this bike rack has a cargo carrier added on to the back of it to allow you to haul any gear you would like to outside of your vehicle. If you would wish, you can pull this cargo carrier out if you only wanna take your two bikes out, or you could even use this cargo carrier by itself in your two-inch hitch receiver. The weight capacity for a cargo carrier when it's added on is 90 pounds, but when you put it as a standalone carrier inside the hitch receiver, it's gonna be 200 pounds. Now on to the cradles of our bike rack. This bike rack's gonna give you four additional fat bike cradles that'll hold fat tire bikes up to five inches wide. You can see the comparison right here between the fat tire bike cradle and the standard cradle. You're also gonna have four of these standard cradles if you want to take out one fat tire bike and then one standard bike. For the standard bike tires, it's tires up to three inches wide. Now the bike rack has three different points where it's connected.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado HR1450Z-85
Today in our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SC 2-Bike Platform Rack with a cargo carrier attachment, part number HR1450Z-85.Now the addition that we'll point out right away is that we have a cargo carrier on the back of our bike rack, which isn't something you typically see a lot. With a cargo carrier attached to it, you're gonna be able to haul any of your biking equipment that you don't want inside of our vehicle, whether it's dirty or doesn't have the best smell to it.The weight capacity for the . when it's outside, on the end of it, is gonna be 90 pounds, but you could also remove it from the bike rack and use it as a standalone carrier, to which the weight limit will be 200 pounds. Or, if you just wanna take your two bikes out and you don't have any cargo to haul, you can also take it off and just use the bike rack. Now the bike itself is gonna be held in at three different points in contact. We have a hook-and-loop strap holding the back wheel in, and we have the same thing on the front. Those two straps are gonna make sure that the wheels stay in their trays and don't shift at all while we're traveling.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado HR1450Z
Today, on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE two-bike platform rack, part number HR1450Z. One of the cool features about this bike rack we'll start off with is that you can purchase add-ons for it whether you want to add on a two-by carrier to it or a cargo carrier to increased your hauling capacity. You can find those at etrailer.com.Another thing I want to point out is that we can tilt this away from our vehicle to gain better access to our truck bed. We'll remove that snapper pin first, and then we're gonna pull the pin on the other side and then let it tilt away, but you will find that when you open up your tailgate and you come down it is gonna make contact with the bike you have on there, but it does open up a good amount to where you can still hold it and get in to your track bed and grab any small thing you might need.To tilt it back up, just reverse the process. We'll tilt it back. It snapped into place, so we'll go ahead and replace this snapper pin.
RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Colorado
Speaker 1: Today in our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at the Rocky Mount's backstage two-bike platform rack. And that's going to be part number RKY-1002. As you can see, we have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now a great feature about this bike rack is that it can swing away from your vehicle to provide you with complete . bed access on our truck. How we're going to do that is we're going to start down here, we're going to loosen up this blue T-pin, and once that's all the way loose we can go ahead and come to this blue circular pin right here and pull up, and that's going to allow us to pull away our bike rack. You do want to make sure while you're doing this that you have a hold of the bike rack and not the bike itself.Next, we're going to tilt it this way just a bit like that, and then we're going to come to this pin right here that's at the corner of our two inaudible 00:01:09 frame bars.
Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Colorado
Speaker 1: Today in our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be taking a look at the Inno Aero Lite 4 Bike Rack for 1 1/2" and 2" hitches. That's gonna be product number INH640. As you can see, we have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now, starting from the outside and working our way in, we're gonna have this integrated cable lock system which comes out from the base of our bike rack, wraps around our frames, and inserts into that slot right there. You will get a set of keys with your bike rack, so when you wanna remove the cable you simply just slide up this tab, you have the insert for your key to unlock your cable, and then unload your bikes. These cradles right here have a nice, thick rubber padding which is gonna help protect the frame of your bike from any type of scratches or abrasions during installation and travel. The cradles can also move back and forth, and slide up and down the rack to accommodate many different-sized bikes and any spacing between bikes that you might want.If we look at the bike itself, we're gonna see it's secured at three different points of contact. We have two straps on the top of our bike frame securing it into the cradles, then down here we're gonna have this anti-rattle cradle.
Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. Now, StageTwo is a platform style bike rack, and a really rugged one at that, it's gonna be really well built in heavy-duty. With this, we're holding the bike by our front tire, and it's not making any frame contact, so it's gonna be good for our carbon and alternative frame bikes, and it also has a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, which makes it good for some of our heavier e-bikes too. With this, you do have the ability to tilt it away with bikes loaded. Now, just come to the end of the handle here, squeeze it with both hands as you're applying a little bit of upward pressure, and then it will release, and that'll give us access to the bed of our truck with a full opening tailgate.
Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp HD on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. A couple things to note here.
Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our Saris Freedom Bike Rack on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. Now the Freedom's gonna be a platform style bike rack holding the bike in these cradles, and by our frame it's gonna be a pretty entry level platform style rack but it does have some nice features that I really like compared to some other entry level options. The big thing of that being it's weight capacity it has a 60 pound capacity per bike which for an entry level rack is really uncommon. So if you need a way to carry e-bikes this is gonna be a nice way to do it at an affordable price point.
RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado RKY10004
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. It's gonna be a platform-style bike rack that's gonna hold the bike in the tray and by our front wheel. We're using a wheel hook to do that, and that's gonna mean zero frame contact, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. With the 60 pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be able to handle some e-bikes too. It does hold the bike really well on there, there's really no movement of the bike within the bike rack itself, which is great to see, everything's stable.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination two bike rack on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. It's gonna be a more entry-level, platform-style bike rack. It's gonna hold the bike in these trays and primarily by our frame. Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado HLY66ZR
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E-Bike on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. Now it's going to be an E-Bike rack that has a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, making it good for some of our heavier E-Bikes. With that, it is going to hold the bike in these trays, and by our frame up here. Frame contact does mean we wanna avoid carbon frame bikes, so it does eliminate that, but with the way the clamps rotate 360 degrees, and are able to move around, it should be good for alternative frame bikes, still.
CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the CURT Premium on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The CURT Premium is a hanging style bike rack. Hi everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at this Saris Glide EX Five, hanging style bike rack on our 2015 Chevy Colorado. Is this going to be able to hold up to five bikes with three tie down points per bike You have two here on the top of your frame and one anti sway cradle on the bottom and what the anti sway cradle is going to do, it's going to limit that bike to bike contact that you get when you're going down the road. The main feature with this bike rack is it does allow you to tilt with the bikes installed, so you have this nice little trigger here. Press that down and it tilts. And on this Colorado, we do have a little bit of contact at the very bottom edge of this tilting feature.

Today we're going to be taking a look at Hollywood Racks Destination Platform Style Rack on our 2015 Chevy Colorado. This is going to be able to hold up to four bikes, with three tie down points per bike. We have two wheel cradles on front and back with some zip tie style straps. Those are very easy to undo, and it only touches your inside of your rim, but it does have a little rubber insert right here, and this is going to protect your rim from any scratches or any sorts of things like that. What I really do like about this bike rack, is it's going to be able to fit a lot of your bikes that you throw at it. So this middle main support here does rotate 360 degrees around this center mast here, and also rotates 360 degrees around the pivot point too. So that's going to be able to accommodate for all those different style framed bikes like this one right here.
What our customers are saying:
"I ordered a trailer hitch and a bike rack carrier the order was shipped with in three days. To put the hitch on only took about 30 mins. only had to drill two 1/2 holes. fit like a glove."
