What's going on everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at your best roof rack options for your 2016 Toyota RAV4. I've messed with a lot of different roof racks over the years being here at etrailer. And a lot of the times, some of the more premium options aren't really the best options. They don't really come with everything you need like these Thule or some of the Yakima systems.

You can also buy these in separate pieces as part number THLB58 and part number TH450. The Thule square bar roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while freeing up space inside your vehicle. It can carry bike racks, cargo baskets, cargo boxes, ski and snowboard carriers as well as kayak carriers. The two bars have a combined carrying capacity of 165 pounds. However, you want to double check with your vehicles manual to make sure your roof can withstand that weight. With these square bars Thule does offer fairings, which are sold separately, which will cut down wind noise and drag while your driving.

The ends of our towers here also have knock-outs which you can replace with the Yakama sync key system, which is sold separately, to you can secure it to your cross rails once you have it installed. Now that we've gone over some features of the roof rack system, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We already have a rear bar partially assembled on our table here, so our next step is to flip our bar upside down, and install our timberline on the other end of our core bar.
