Video Transcript for Swagman Escapee Pro 2-Bike Add-On Feature Breakdown

Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. Today we are gonna be talking about this Swagman Escape B Pro add-on two bike carrier. So, let's take a closer look at it. So again, this is just gonna be the add-on. So, if you already own this Swagman Escape B Pro two bike carrier, you can add this on to make it into a four bike carrier. Perfect for anyone.

If you already own that rack and maybe your group of riders has grown, you've added new riders to your journey, great attachment for this rack. Now, everything about this is pretty much gonna be the same, how your bikes attached to the rack, the touch points, how it tilts back, all of that's pretty much the same, but your capacities are gonna shift a bit. So, let's take a closer look at that. So, you already know with your existing two bike carrier, each one of these trays were rated at 80 pounds. Now, when you add a third bike to this and you have the add-on on here, your capacity's gonna be 80 pounds, 80 pounds, and then 45 pounds.

But if you're loading up four bikes onto this carrier, what's gonna happen is each one of these trays are gonna drop down to 45 pounds. And that's really important to note if you are carrying any e-bikes on here. Now, one of the major differences we're also gonna have with this add-on is just gonna be the length you notice with the rack. And this is important to take into account if you're in any tight spaces, like a garage, a parking spot. But it's also something to take into account for that tilt away when you wanna get into the hatch area.

And why I say that is 'cause the handle works exactly the same. You still have that safety latch and we'll just squeeze on here, lower it down. I will say it is gonna get a lot heavier now, but what I found is even on a taller vehicle, like the Armada, it's gonna make contact with the ground because we do have a pretty good tilt on this rack. So, that is something to consider if you have a vehicle lower to the ground like a van. And again, it's gonna have all the same touch points, even when you are taking your bikes off here.

So, you're still gonna have the straps works the same way, and we're gonna have this front ratcheting hook. It is gonna have a lock core that will come with some new keys for you. And when you remove it, it's gonna be pretty easy for the first bike here. But once you get closer to the bike closest to the vehicle, that's when it gets a little bit trickier. And if you are carrying those heavy e-bikes, something I would recommend checking out is a ramp that you can get added to this. It makes that process of loading your bikes way easier. And it's still gonna have that ability to tilt up or fold up. Now, the difference here is when we do that, since we've added more to the rack, it's gonna take up a lot more space. So now this is gonna be roughly adding from that handle here to the bottom of the base, it's gonna be about 50 inches of space. So, if you have a larger vehicle, it's still probably going block quite a bit. But overall, I think this will be a great addition to your rack if maybe you've got one more rider or you still want that e-bike capabilities or you got two new riders and all you guys are riding with standard bikes anyways, this is gonna be good for you. Now if you guys do decide to go with this, let us know how it's working for you and either comment or review. And if you have any other questions, let us know here at etrailer. And again, I'm Matt and thanks for watching.
