Want to be sure my research is correct. I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Diesel. Ready Brute Elite tow bar. Is RM 52289-4 correct base plate?

I have a confirmed fit for you, however, the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-52289-5, are not compatible with the Ready Brute Elite tow bar.

You will want the Blue Ox Base Plate Adapter Brackets for Ready Brute Elite Tow Bars # BX88297 along with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1986 which are custom fit for your vehicle. This will give you base plates and the adapter needed to be compatible with your tow bar. You may also want a locking pin like # e98882. If you don't already have safety cables, I recommend the Roadmaster 80" Coiled Safety Cables - Double Hook - 10,000 lbs - Qty 2 # RM-653.

If you don't already have wiring for your Ram, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, # RM-15267. This will use your vehicle wiring but protect it from overload and give you an easy connection for towing.

You may need a hi-low adapter for this application. I've linked the page to our adapters and an article to help you determine your needs.

For a supplemental braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This is an easy set up that our installers love because it is a very reliable system that requires no adjustment after the initial install. The Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit # RM-88400 is needed to keep the lights functioning in sync.
