If you want a clean, factory look when your setup isn’t in use, this design keeps it neat. The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit tucks behind the front end so the brackets don’t protrude past the bumper. When you’re not towing, just twist to remove the arms and plug in the receiver covers to keep dirt and debris out. It leaves nothing sticking out and gives the front of your vehicle a finished appearance.
The removable arms slide into the base plate receivers and lock with a simple rotation. When you’re ready to disconnect, pull the pin, twist, and remove—no tools needed. The setup uses sturdy lugs that pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection every time. The bracket spacing is 20" with a 19" height, so you can easily match up your towing gear and know it will align right.
The base plate bolts straight to the chassis using included mounting hardware—no welding required. Its sturdy design spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to reduce stress on suspension components during long hauls. It’s made from durable steel with a powder-coated finish that resists rust and corrosion, giving you confidence for mile after mile of towing.
Already have a tow bar you like? This kit connects directly to Blue Ox tow bars for a perfect fit. If you’re running Roadmaster or Demco equipment, just add the right adapter—RM-031 or RM-031-5 for Roadmaster, and DM9523041 for Demco (sold separately). Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector plug bracket up front so your wiring stays organized and ready when you hit the road.

I did a lot of research on my 05 Jeep Liberty the Blue Ox is the easiest to put on exactly what I wanted exactly what I expected recommended highly to anyone with a Jeep Liberty 02 to 07
We have always received excellent service from etrailer.
If you are mechanically inclined then this should install fairly easy. I Did this myself and I took my time and got it installed in about 3 hours This is on a 2005 Jeep Liberty. Towed to Pigeon Forge Tenn. and back.

Just recieved the tow plate and will install next week. If it is like the other one's I ordered I am sure all will be fine. Will submit a report later.
Tried to find someone to install this but no one seemed to have time so did it myself. Removing grill and bumper cover was easy especially since several fasteners we broke or missing from someone else removing them. Used the trick of attaching the base plate to the frame with a clamp them moving it to line up right. Hardest part was drilling the end holes. Had to buy a $16 drill bit to get through the metal. Them had problems lining up the last nut. Everything else went fine with good videos of the install. If a 70 year old (me) can install it by himself, anyone can.
We love our tow bar. A good friend had a motor home and when he sold it he gave us the arms for the Blue Ox so we would only need the Base Plate when the time came to use it. Then we bought a used Jeep Liberty and wanted to tow it behind our motor home. Our research indicated that Blue Ox was still the best unit for this, so we reached out to etrailer.com and found out we could still get the Base Plate Kit for our old Jeep. We had a local shop in Lake Havasu City, AZ install the Plate for us. We took a 1000+ mile trip last October and towed the Jeep. It was so effortless. We're so happy with our entire Blue Ox unit and highly recommend it to anyone that wants to tow behind your motor home.
I know they would like a picture of our unit, but we had so much fun taking pictures of everything else, we just don't have pictures of the rig. That's the best recommendation I can give. You will find it so great, you can just enjoy your trip and forget about the Blue Ox!
This purchase reflected our second base plate. The first one was on a 2006 Jeep Liberty w/o any problem during its lifetime. Last year, the old Jeep was damaged in an accident. We bought another Jeep Liberty 2007 used model. The initial installation was fine but the base plate became loose after about one month. I found two of the weld nuts on each side became loose and had to order replacements from Blue Ox. The weld nuts quality seemed to deteriorated as compare to our 2011 version. Once I replaced the weld nuts we have not had any problems.

It has been a bit more than a year since I put the Blue Ox base plate on our second Jeep Liberty. It worked fine since I replaced the weld nuts. I have had no issues with the installation.
Everything was outstanding. I received the base plate on time and everything was there that was suppose to be. You folks are tops in my book. Thank You.
Great product and am super happy with the customer service. Steve from etrailer.com emailed me the day my tow bar arrive with additional information on installation and provided a contact number if I needed. Product I received was out standing and the customer service is even better. I will shop here again and recommend anyone to this company.
Installed the Blue Ox baseplate on a 2007 Jeep Liberty. After reading the instructions and watching the etrailer video, it was a simple install. Took about 3 hours - most of which was just being careful taking the bumper off the car and putting it back on. The baseplate itself only took maybe an hour.
Support and quick shipment from etrailer was excellent. Yesterday, I made another purchase with them to receive the wiring kit and tow bar.
I am very pleased with the service, shipping and product quality of my recent purchase...a "Blue Ox" baseplate for out 2007 Jeep Liberty. The online installation video was instrumental in my self installation...it was much easier than I could have imagined. Final results look great and no doubt saved $$$$ doing it myself. As this will be towed behind our motorhome, I also purchased and installed the tow wiring harness. Again, the installation video made this very easy.
