Question:

I need to set up a 2006 Jeep Liberty for towing. I have the Blue Ox tow bar but need the base plate. I was looking at the pictures and it shows cables and carabiners along with a few other parts. Do these parts come with the base plate? Also I need wiring for my Jeep to work the tail lights and charge the battery of the towed vehicle while towing. My motorhome has the plugging on the back 6+ center. I see you offer a lot of wiring kits but not sure exactly what will serve my purpose. Let me know.

We do have the correct Blue Ox base plate that is a fit for your 2006 Jeep Liberty, which is the following part:

- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1122

This will work with the Blue Ox Adventurer, Aladdin, Allure, Alpha, Avail, Aventa, and Trion tow bars; if you do not have one of these I recommend going with the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar # BX7380.

Along with that, for wiring, the best part because it protects your Jeep's electrical system, is the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267.

There are some other parts you will need to complete your flat towing set up as well if you do not have them, which I'll list for you to make it easy to order:

- Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables # BX88196

- Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700

- Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

I also recommend the Blue Ox KarGard Towed Vehicle Protector # BX8870 (which works with all but Blue Ox Acclaim tow bars) to keep rocks and other debris from hitting your Jeep while you are flat towing it.
