Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at E Trailer and today we're taking a look at the Curt half inch pin and clip for an inch and a quarter inch hitch with a two and a quarter inch span. Now when choosing accessories for your vehicle generally your cargo carries and bike racks are gonna come with a pin and clip to keep them in place. But if you plan on using a ball mount for towing a small trailer like I do here you're gonna need a pin and clip to keep that in place, and also this can be a great replacement if you do lose your original pin and clip from those accessories. And this one's pretty nice. It is zinc coated, so it's gonna hold up long term. So even if I leave this on the vehicle outside this should hold up to the elements and look really nice.
It's not gonna get all corroded. Another thing that's great about this style of pin here is you have this groove and that's going to allow you to put your pin in place. Now that's where it differentiates from some of the others that have a hole, which is fine but this allows you to put it in at any angle and this can kind of rest where it needs to be. Whereas this one, I can't really put it in at this angle without it hitting the hitch. So I'm limited with my pin going directly straight in.
So this has to sit at this angle and sometimes that causes this to kind of rub against the bottom of the fascia, whereas this one it can rest wherever it wants to be and it's not pressed against the vehicle. And when you're ready to use it, pretty easy you're just gonna line your ball mount with the hole and then we can slide that in. And as I mentioned, I can put this in really at any angle. So that allows me to kind of move this around to where I want it. So if I want this to sit kind of in my safety chain loop I could definitely do that and that way that pin stays in place.
This is an easy accessory to just add to the cart when choosing a ball mount because you are gonna need one if you don't have a spare pin and clip or if you've lost yours with the other accessories. This is a great option as well, and it's gonna work with your class one and class two hitch. And that was a look at the Curt half inch pin and clip for your inch and a quarter inch trailer hitch..
