Id like to put a 1.25inch hitch on my 2016.5 Mazda CX-5. Which receiver would provide the correct height and bumper clearance for using this vehicle to tow a small lightweight boat?

It has a 1 1/4" receiver opening and is a confirmed fit for your 2016.5 Mazda CX-5. it has a maximum gross trailer weight of up to 3,500 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of up to 350 lbs. (Be sure to check your owners manual for vehicle towing specs).

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver has great clearance. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper right about 4 inches. From the ground to the inside top edge of the receiver tube opening it's going to be right about 13-1/2 inches.
