Towing different trailers means the coupler height is rarely the same. This adjustable ball mount gives you up to a 4" drop or 4" rise, so you can line things up level every time. The platform slides along the shank and locks in place with dual pins, giving you solid, repeatable adjustments that keep your trailers tracking straight and stable on the road.
When you’re pulling serious weight, you want the hitch to feel as solid as the truck. This mount can handle up to 12,000 lbs whether you’re using the 2" ball or the 2-5/16" clamshell adapter. The steel shank and stainless steel ball create a strong connection that’s built for demanding hauls, from campers to work trailers, without flex or rattle under load.
Swapping between trailers with different coupler sizes doesn’t have to be a chore. The included clamshell adapter locks around the 2" stainless steel ball to create a 2-5/16" towing option—no extra tools or loose parts needed. It keeps ground clearance steady since the adapter fits right over the existing ball instead of hanging lower like a tri-ball setup.
Towing gear takes a beating from rain, salt, and dust. The black powder coat on the steel shank and the stainless steel hitch ball both resist corrosion that would otherwise eat away at your setup. You can leave it on year-round without worrying about rust buildup or stuck components after a long trip.
The mount comes complete with a 5/8" pin and clip to secure it in your 2-1/2" receiver and all hardware needed to get rolling. Setup is straightforward—slide it in, pin it, set your height, and you’re ready to tow with confidence every time.

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Blue Ox adjustable ball mount. This is going to slide right into your 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle. It's gonna provide the two inch ball here for you to hook up to your trailer coupler. This does also have this 2 5/16 inch ball clamshell that will fit right over top of that two inch ball, so that you can accommodate a 2 5/16 inch coupler as well.
Both the ball and the clamshell are going to be a stainless steel construction, so they are gonna hold up really well for you. So, no matter what, which size coupler you're hooking up to, you'll have that same great option. They're both gonna have the same gross towing weight capacity, which is 12,000 pounds. So, either way, just gives you more options of being able to tow different trailers. And with different trailers comes different trailer heights, which is where our adjustable height setting comes in.
So, we'll be able to adjust our height here to accommodate those different trailer heights, make sure that they're gonna stay level as we're towing. Very simple to adjust. Just remove these clips here, and push out the pins. Then we can adjust the ball in that direction, or we can flip this over like so and adjust it like that. So, if we have it in our max rise here, obviously, we'd wanna put the pins in.
From the top inside the edge of our receiver tube, up to where the coupler is going to sit, our max rise is gonna be four inches. If we we're to flip this around and use it in the drop position, our max drop is gonna be four inches as well. So, we have 1 1/4 inch increments of adjustment. So, that will accommodate a wide variety of trailer heights to make sure that your trailer's gonna be nice and level as you're towing down the road, which is obviously very important for making sure that everything's riding properly. The tires are gonna wear properly, and all that sort of important things that a trailer levelness brings.
This does have a black powder coat finish to help resist rust and corrosion. This is made here in the USA, so you can trust it's made it to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US. Also comes with a limited lifetime warranty. And they include this standard 5/8 inch pin and clip to secure the ball mount to your hitch receiver. So, everything you're gonna need to just put right into your 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver. Hook up to either a two inch ball or 2 5/16 inch ball, coupler. So, that completes our look for today. I'm sorry to see that your hitch has received some scratches on it due to shipping. This does tend to happen and when it does, we recommend using a Rust-oleum type paint to cover up any scratches and prevent corrosion in the future during use. I have a link below for your reference.
