Equip your ball mount with a black nickel hitch ball sized and rated for your trailer. The hex nut and lock washer are included for installation, and the 10,000-lb capacity is stamped on the ball for quick reference before you tow.
Replacing a hitch ball or setting up a new ball mount takes more than matching the ball size. The wrong shank size, missing hardware, or improper installation can compromise the connection between your trailer and ball mount. This hitch ball includes the matching hex nut and lock washer, has its 10,000-lb gross towing weight capacity and 1,000-lb tongue weight capacity clearly established through SAE J684 testing, and specifies a 350 lb-ft torque requirement for installation.
To install this hitch ball correctly, tighten the included hex nut to the specified 350 lb-ft. You'll need a 1-7/8" socket (ALL643216 - sold separately) and a torque wrench capable of reaching 350 lb-ft. Integrated wrench flats keep the hitch ball from turning while you tighten the hex nut to the specified torque. Once everything is tightened to spec, your hitch ball is ready for the trailer it's rated to tow.
