Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the replacement clevis end kit for etrailer.com SD tow bars. So with these ends, you're just gonna receive this part here that connects to the end of your tow bar, and it will allow you to pair it up to your base plate. So, a couple of reasons you might find yourself in the scenario where you might need these. One of 'em might be if these ended up getting damaged, whatever the reason. You know, maybe it drug the ground when you thought you had it stored right or something along those lines.
You know, a lot of stuff can happen over the road. So, you can get a fresh set and get going again. But I feel like what a lot of people would use these for is to convert their tow bar, essentially, to allow you to pair up with the base plate. And that's exactly what our scenario is today. So, our neighbor flat towed in the past, used this tow bar, but they had a different manufacturer of base plate, right And so with these etrailer SD tow bars, you can get 'em in a variety of different combinations with different styles of ends on it to allow you to pair up to certain manufacturers of base plates.
And, you know, you ended up getting a new vehicle, setting it up, change the brand of base plate. And as opposed to having to buy a whole entire new tow bar, you can change these ends out and allow you to make that connection. So with these, they're gonna work for Demco base plates as well as etrailer base plates. With these, you know, they are going to come with new pins and clips. So, not gonna have to worry about that.
And they're gonna come as a pair too, so you'll have a complete set to swap 'em over to your current tow bar. With that in mind, you know, let's say if you happen to have a Roadmaster base plate or another manufacturer, like I said before, there's a ton of different styles of these ends that'll, you know, allow you to pair up this Husky tow bar with the base plate that's on your vehicle. So check that out if that's what you're looking for. But not a whole lot to it. You know, these are just as well made as if you we're to buy a new tow bar with these ends on it.
So nothing to worry about there. Definitely gonna fit. If you happen to have an etrailer XHD tow bar, just a little more heavy duty one, all these are available for that as well. But this particular set will fit just the SD. So, regardless of what you got and the situation you're in, there's definitely gonna be a solution for you. As far as getting these swapped over, nothing to it at all really. You know, it comes with all the hardware and everything that you're gonna need, and it's just one bolt per side. So, you really shouldn't run into too many issues. But why don't we go ahead and change one of these ends out together now. To get the end actually installed on your tow bar, very easy. What you're gonna do is just take the bolt, start to push that through the bracket there of the adapter. And you can take one of the washers, put that on, line it up with the hole in the tow bar there. And you're gonna wanna put it just through. That way we can get the other washer in. Work it into place. And I like to use a little bit of blue Loctite on the threads. Not a ton, but a little drop. Take our nylon lock nut, we'll get this started. Then we'll tighten it down with a 9/16 socket and wrench. (driver rattles) I like to run it down tight to where you can hardly move this and then just back it off a little bit. (driver rattles) And what we're looking for (driver rattles) is this to be able to move fairly easily but still have a little bit of resistance in it there. So, I think we're in really good shape with it set up like this. You'll do the same exact thing for the other arm of the tow bar. And that's how you get these installed. Alright, you've seen that these are gonna be compatible and how easy they are to change. I think that'll about do it for our look at of the etrailer clevis ends for etrailer SD tow bars.
