The Backbone adds support to your factory hard top so you can carry more gear on your roof rack. Provides mounting points for a Pioneer Platform or up to 3 Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero or Heavy-Duty crossbars.


Features:

  • Backbone system reinforces the structure of your factory hard top so you can carry more weight on your roof rack
    • Allows your hard top to bear a heavier load when compared with a roof rack mounted directly to the hard top
    • Won't interfere with removal of Freedom panels or hard top
  • Internal brackets install around window frames and bear weight from roof
  • 6 External platforms provide flat, stable mounting surfaces for a Pioneer Platform or up to 3 Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero or Heavy-Duty crossbars (sold separately)

    I went ahead and reached out to my contact at Rhino-Rack, and she confirmed that the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack Legs - Gutter Mount - 5-15/16" Tall # RL150S13-3 will technically attach to a Rhino-Rack Pioneer platform. However, Pioneer Platforms are customized to fit certain roof dimensions, and I cannot recommend which platform you will need for your vehicle.     You didn't mention what year Armada you have but the 2015 Nissan Armada is a first gen so while we have a platform solution we don't have a Rhino Rack. So what we have that is a fit is the Front Runner Slimline II platform part # FR48YJ which is 85-1/4 inch by 53 inch. This platform so far fits 2008-2024 Nissan Armadas.
