Can this roof rack be on without the hardtop on?

The Rhino-Rack Backbone Roof Rack Mounting System # RRRJLB1 is designed to reinforce the structure of your Jeep's hard top so you can carry more weight but it won't physically interfere with the removal of the hard top. Once installed you will still be able to take off and re-install the hardtop on your Jeep without issue.
