The greaseless AlumiBall is a solid aluminum hitch ball topped with a nylon cap. The cap enables the trailer coupler to rotate easily around the ball. This prevents the coupler from getting stuck during turns and makes the towing experience smoother. The Alumiball does not require the use of lubricants, helping you to avoid greasy messes. Nylon cap is replaceable.

The rapid hitch with the double (inverted) ball was just a little to low to the ground when I wanted to tow a small jet ski trailer. By using just the 2" ball, ground clearance is no longer a problem.

This single hitch ball helped alot for my truck that sits high. I don't have to use my double hitch ball anymore which because it was set at a the lowest slot on my drop down shank it would scrape driveway curb.

Will the Rapid Hitch Ball Work w/ a Power Caster 3?
Thanks for the picture Doug! I am sorry but the Rapid Hitch Ball item # AM3453 is not going to work with your Power Caster 3. I recommend reaching out to them directly as we do not have anything that will work with their dollies.

Can The Hitch Balls Of An Andersen Rapid Hitch Ball Mount Be Replaced
Hi MH, The balls for the Rapid Hitch Adjustable, Locking, Aluminum Ball Mount Kit # AM3400 can rapidly be changed out by removing the bracket that holds the balls and then pulling out the locking pin # AM3440. With it removed you can slot in one of Andersen's ball attachments and reinstall the bracket on the shank. There isn't a double 2" hitch ball attachment but we do offer the following hitch ball combinations: Chrome: 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # AM3452 1-7/8" and 2" Hitch Balls # AM3425 2"...

Is an Anderson 4,000 Pound Rapid Hitch Ball Rated High Enough for a Trailer Weighing 4,000 Pounds
The current Rapid Hitch ball, # AM3453, is rated at 6,000 pounds. There is no longer a 4,000 pound option. If the gross trailer weight is under 4,000 pounds then the ball you have will work. But if it is over 4,000 pounds at all you would want to upgrade to the higher capacity ball.

Can The Greaseless AlumiBall Fit With The Weigh Safe Adjustable Ball Mount?
The Greaseless AlumiBall # AM3453 is only going to fit on a Rapid Hitch Adjustable ball mount like the Kit # AM3410. Your Weigh Safe is going to use a different style hitch ball. And they do not offer a greaseless ball for that setup currently.
