Is an Anderson 4,000 Pound Rapid Hitch Ball Rated High Enough for a Trailer Weighing 4,000 Pounds

Question:
My Anderson nylon cap single side 2inch ball says 4000 lb capacity, has this changed and will 4K be enough to tow my roughly 4000 lb boat/trailer?

The current Rapid Hitch ball, # AM3453, is rated at 6,000 pounds. There is no longer a 4,000 pound option. If the gross trailer weight is under 4,000 pounds then the ball you have will work. But if it is over 4,000 pounds at all you would want to upgrade to the higher capacity ball.
