The Underbed Installation Kit functions as both a gooseneck and a fifth wheel foundation. It’s the same heavy-duty Turnoverball gooseneck hitch that’s rated for 30,000 lbs gross towing weight and a 7,500-lb vertical load limit, with a 2-5/16" ball size. When you need to pull a gooseneck trailer, drop in the ball and latch it with the built-in handle. When it’s time for fifth wheel towing, remove the ball and mount your B&W Companion hitch into the same opening for a secure lockup.
Installation is straightforward since the custom brackets line up with existing holes in the truck’s frame. You’ll cut the 4" bed hole for the hitch ball and small holes for the safety chain loops, but there’s no frame drilling or welding needed. The heavy-gauge, powder-coated steel brackets and center section bolt together for a strong, corrosion-resistant base that’s built to last.
The Turnoverball design keeps the connection tight and solid for confidence under heavy loads. The operating handle, accessed from the driver’s-side wheel well, locks the steel pin into the ball or Companion post for a secure hold. When you’re not towing, the ball stores right in the hitch, so there’s nothing to misplace and no loose parts rolling around.
