Pair this center section with a custom mounting kit (sold separately) to get a sturdy hitch for towing your gooseneck trailer. Store the removable ball upside down in the hitch when you aren't towing to get total bed access.Superb service Products arrived on time and also ahead of time
Have not installed the hitch yet but is the correct part and have no worries about its performance. Delivery was on time with no problems.
My opinion best hitch made.
Very good product and amazing customer service
Everything worked out great the only problem is the handle to pull the pin out is not long enough to go outside the wheel well so I had to add three more inches onto it other than that great product thank you very much
I purchased this to pull a 25Ton GN trailer with heavy equipment and so far it works great! Good price point and reliable product. I would highly recommend this product and trailer. Thank you!
A very good product, I used a warn cable winch to lift the center hitch into place it worked very well, I couldn't quite hold it and work with installing fasteners. The only problem I found was the hitch pin mounts need to be unfastened to get the frame bolt in and tightened. the bolts need to be inserted and nuts started and then after the frame bolt is installed the nuts can be removed and carefully set the hinge pin up over them and reattach the nuts. I have a 2024 and there is a box gusset on the cab side that makes it impossible to put the frame bolt in from the cab side holes. Be sure you clean the frame mount holes and use a lubricant to make it easier to get the nut studs in them. I did mine on the shop floor, you become a reptile for three hours.
This is my 2nd B&W turnover underbed hitch that I have purchased from e-trailer. Price was good, shipping was fast
and the hitch works absolutely great, and it was easy to install.
Great hitch! I'm a pretty avid do it yourselfer so I did the install myself and it was relatively simple. The directions that came with the hitch had all the information I needed. It works well with my trailer and the quality seems to be pretty good. It's pretty low profile while you're not using it as well. Overall very happy with it. A couple of install notes for squarebody Chevy, GMC trucks which is what I installed mine on: You will need to lift the bed off the frame just enough to slide the hitch between the bed floor and the top of the frame rails so if your truck is rusty like mine, you may want to have new bed mount hardware on hand before you start in case you have to cut the old bolts to get them out. Also, the safety chain loops land right on the ridges in the bed floor so they don't recess completely flush even when they're not in use but so far it hasn't been a problem for me. I saw that mentioned in some other reviews on here so I already knew before I bought the hitch.
This was the second Goose-neck mid bed ball to frame assembly I purchased from etrailer....this was for a V-8 Tundra; the first was for a V-12 dodge 2500; Both were absolutely spot on in terms of Hardware provided; Instructions; and actual holes already in the respective frames to line up to the hitch frame mounting steel; beyond that I got digital brake/level controllers from these guys for the Tundra and it was mint....cannot speak more highly of etrailer to get the stuff you need to haul....its obvious these guys actually get the kit first then see if it fits...on an actual truck...then order and distribute it when it does...10 out of 10 for etrailer
After having this hitch for a year I can’t say I’m too impressed. They claim the powdercoat on it is durable, but after only a year there’s already spots of rust. The pictures I’ve included are only showing a few spots I’ve noticed. I painted the pieces that sit against my frame with frame paint in hopes that doesn’t rust either. But the outside facing pieces, I haven’t touched. My truck is stored in the winter and the hitch hasn’t even been used yet since purchase. I’m sure it performs well since my last gooseneck hitch was B&W. But as for durability, I don’t think they do as well anymore. It shouldn’t be this rusty only after a year, being stored, not seeing salt or even being used.
I was converting a fixed/welded gooseneck ball on a CM flatbed to a removable one so I could also use a B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch adapter. Although it wasn’t easy to find someone to cutout the old ball and install the new turnover ball, it was done expertly and the hitch works perfectly! Very easy to operate from the wheel well and turn over for a flat area for cargo. Always had a turnover ball in the past and highly recommend this one for a conversion.
The hitch is beefy and seem to be very strong. My guess is the truck frame will give before the hitch. Great quality. I very happy! I'm an above average backyard mechanic and found the installation doable, but a little of a challenge. Differently need a help. My wife was a big help. I use a 2X4 across my bed and a ratchet strap to lift and hold the center section in to position. I also had to reposition my exhaust pipe where it goes over the differential to get some clearance. Also, I had to drill out one of the square holes in the tailpipe L bracket to receive the factory bolt.
Great instructions.
Grab a buddy to help install a few items as it may take two sets of hands.
Make sure and tighten the plate to the cross members before tightening to the frame.
Top quality , heavily and sturdy parts. Easy to follow instructions. Best things....made in USA and good price!!!
Not my first B&W....and won't be my last either. Installation photos to follow.
We use a lot with a dump trailer and a horse trailer. No issues, smooth!
It’s been about a year now of use with my gooseneck trailers. What a great improvement from using the hitch under the bumper. Still solid and functions flawlessly. Make sure to lube the pin that locks the ball, if grime gets in there it gums it up and doesn’t release it completely.
Installation was straight forward and it's well built. Works smoothly. etrailer was awesome as usual with shipping and service.
However.... ;) on the BWGNRK1400 for '73-'87 GM trucks, the predrilled holes in the hitch for the safety chain u-bolts are 6-1/4" each way from center of the ball. This places the matching holes you have to drill in the truck bed on the sloped edge of the ribs, not in the center of the valley as intended. The instructions read as if the holes are not pre-drilled but they are, so I contacted B&W and asked if I can drill new holes at 8-3/4" each way of the ball so that they center in the next valley and they said no, that will void the warranty. So I had to do some bodywork, cut, weld and grind to scallop the ribs around the anchors to they won't always be sticking up (defeating the flat floor intent of this hitch design). I saw guy on [online] noted this was an issue on his squarebody bed as well.
B&W needs to look at this dimension for future installations to help out the next guy.
Fantastic product!! Hardest part is drilling the holes in the frame for safety chain loops. Remove the spare tire for ease of access and have several swivels and extensions for mounting.
4.9 out of 5 stars Etrailer provides an installation video from 2017 which, given my “new” F350 in 2024 is, in fact, a 2017 year, one would presume to be appropriate - but, in fact, B&W has tweaked its product just a bit so there were a few, small headscratchers. Most important of these were drop-in (well, hammer in) threaded busing inserts in place of the previous threading in some of the brackets.
But overall, the surprises all were positive ones. Most importantly, against my dread, I did NOT have to drop my DEF tank, even though my truck has the very long 48-gallon diesel tank. Nor did I have to extract any heat shield…or even lower the exhaust. This is my second B&W Turnover install - the prior was in 2008 - and this went even more smoothly than the prior time.
Lastly, a point of uniqueness: Etrailer’s free shipping applies only for the lower 48. Shipping this ~150-lb product to Alaska would have set me back another $243. But, in that we needed to fly to Seattle, I had the hitch sent to WA and - to the eye-raises of the AK Air employees - managed to check four small but mighty heavy boxes of just under 50 lbs. each and pay no surcharges other than Washington State sales tax. A win!
Product arrived in a timely manner, although it took awhile I was able to install it completely by myself. It was sturdy and looked good, fit well and went together nicely. I used it the next day to bring home a trailer a friend had gifted me. The turnover feature is really great, when not used the hitch ball is turned over, I put the truck bedliner back in and you do not even know it is there.
That hitch was put on for a customer.B&W is the only hitch that I will install in my shop. Both of my trucks have B&W Hitches and they are great. Never had one to fail.

I have used it only a few times this year but performs great. The ball is still easy to remove and flip. Look forward to purchasing the fifth wheel in attachment in the future.
