Question:

I have 7k axles on my 5th wheel. I would like to install 8k 7 leaf springs to give me more height when coupled to my lifted Ram. I really dont want to replace the hangers. Would this give me an inch or so of lift? Greg

Hi Greg; leaf springs aren't typically used to raise a trailer. However, if the # EM28AJ matches your current leaf spring measurements, and your current leaf springs are 3-leaf, and the leaf springs are sitting on top of the axle, that would push you up by 1" with the 1/4" leaf thickness.

Assuming this is a tandem axle trailer the other option would be to add the Correct Track # RR55QX. This kit extends your hangers so you don't have to cut them off and weld on new ones for a lift. You can raise the trailer height by 1-1/4" or 2-1/4".

Yes it's a tandem axle. Your link is a triple axle.

@Greg that is correct, the tandem axle kit doesn't come with enough to raise each hanger. We have tried to get them to fix it but that hasn't happened yet.

@Greg tandem axle trailer right? How many hangers do you have on your trailer? Two in the front, two in the middle, two in the rear I hope. You need brackets on either side of the hanger to extend it. There are 12 brackets in the triple axle kit. If you have 6 hangers, and need a bracket for each side, that is 6x2 so 12 total. We don't make the kit but that is how RV Ride Control has decided to sell it. If you get the tandem axle kit # RR23QX for a little less you're getting 8 of the brackets, enough to extend 4 hangers.

@Greg unfortunately, no, it will not work with the CRE3000 because of clearance issues so that leaves you with either swapping out the equalizers to use the lift kit or cutting off the hangers to weld on taller ones.
