Hey David. For your 2012 Lance 1685 Travel Trailer, I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control item # FA92-00-0800. Your Lance 1685 tops out at 5,400 lbs so this should put your tongue weight around 540 lbs - 810 lbs depending on how you load up your trailer. The Fastway e2 works with tongue weights between 400 lbs - 800 lbs.
The Fastway e2 has built in sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your tow vehicle when you're going down the highway. It's great for sudden lane changes, getting passed by a semi, or windy conditions. The sway control brackets attach 27" - 30" back from the center of the coupler. A 2" shank is included but not a hitch ball. Depending on your coupler size you will either need a 2" Hitch Ball item # A-90 or a 2-5/16" hitch ball item # C40030.
What tow vehicle are you using to haul your Lance trailer?
