Hey David, congrats on the new camper - how exciting! I can definitely help you with a weight distribution (WD) setup.
The correct WD hitch will depend on the camper weight, specifically the loaded tongue weight. That weight will depend on the exact Wolf Pup floorplan, because they vary quite a bit, but they’re all in the lightweight category.
For example, a common 2025 model like the Wolf Pup 16LP has a GVWR of about 3,900 lbs which would put the loaded tongue weight around 400-500 lbs.
Each WD hitch has a range of tongue weights it will work with, and we want to make sure your camper falls right within that range.
So for example, if yours is the 16LP model, I would recommend the following:
- Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # EQ37060ET
This is made for trailers with a tongue weight between 200 and 600 lbs and the LP model should fall right within that range. This means you will see effective ride leveling and sway reduction. Overall, it'll make those long trips much more comfortable.
The Equal-i-zer systems specifically are top tier. The quality is great and they perform really well. Easy to set up an take down too once you get your initial setup done. It also allows you to back up without disconnecting which is a huge plus. Definitely one of the best WD systems money can buy.
One important thing to keep in mind is the frame brackets for this WD system need to be placed on the tongue between 27" and 32" back from the hitch ball. You'll want to measure out the tongue and make sure there are no obstructions in this area like propane tanks or battery trays. As long as you have room, you can be sure the Equal-i-zer system will fit and work well for you.
What floorplan Wolf Pup do you have? Happen to know the GVWR or loaded tongue weight? Let me know and I can make absolutely sure you get the right thing.

Hi Jesse, I have the Bunk House floor plan. Dry, it’s 3600 lbs, and it’s rated up to 5,500 pounds. So, if I’m calculating correctly, 15% of 5,500 would be 825 lbs. Now, I doubt that I would ever get to that weight, so I think 650-700 would be more appropriate. Thanks!
