I have a 2021 Subaru Outback with retractable roof rack. Im looking for a kayak carrier. Can you advise, please? Thanks

Hey Bonnie, Subaru's retractable roof rack is pretty cool. I've had a few customers come through with it and Subaru did a great job of making practical and stylish use out of their roof rack.
The crossbars are a pretty standard size and can carry up to 150 lbs, so you will have no problem carrying most kayaks. We have a couple different carrier options that might be good for you.
If you don't mind lifting the kayak onto the roof by yourself and are someone who likes the best bang for your buck, go with the Kayak Carrier, # e98878. I attached a video we made of this carrier on a 2021 Subaru Outback with the retractable roof rack for you to check out.
Another option I recommend checking out is the LockRack Series X # LR24VR. This rack is quite a bit more expensive but makes it easier to throw your kayak up there flat and doesn't require load straps going around the kayak. In my experience, this rack makes loading and unloading the kayak easier. You will still need bow and stern tie-downs, so I also recommend picking up a tie-down kit, # e36ZR.
Since it sounds like you enjoy spending time out on the lake or the rapids, I'd be doing you a disservice if I didn't recommend a rear cargo are protector # e98877 to keep your wet clothes, life vests, paddles and anything else in the back of your Subaru.
