Question:

Yes I have travel trailer with standard equalizer on it. I’m looking to upgrade the suspension on my trailer in the near future. I was looking at the road master shocks, but want to inquire more about the timbren items I’m seeing. What is the ease of installation of this product compared to other systems and the best value money for performance

Hey Ryan! Those systems are quite different. The Timbren Silent Ride Suspension for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 3" Round Axles item # TSR10KT02 is a complete replacement option. It takes away your entire leaf spring set up and requires you to mount your axles directly to it. The installation process in extremely in-depth. You have to remove all of your current suspension components including hangers, you'll need to install a hollow 2" x 4" steel crossmember, and your current axle seats have to be removed and new ones welded on from the silent ride kit.

If it was me, I would go with the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers item # RM-2470. This system adds four nitrogen-charged shock absorbers to your current suspension set up. The Comfort Ride shocks install easily between your axle's U-bolt tie plates and the trailer frame, and are unique because the shock is able to mount at an angle more vertical than other shocks, which allows it to absorb more of your axle's up-and-down movement than any other upgrade.

What shock absorbing equalizer would you pair with the road master shocks?

@Ryan I prefer the MORryde's like item # mr27zr you were looking at. We'll need to compare the dimensions on your current ones though to see if it'll work as a replacement.

@JerredH The standard equalizer is 13-122 on my unit. What equalizer will fit this and the appropriate wet bolt kit to go with to include the front and rear hangers as well.

@Ryan The Dexter 13-122 equalizer is 7-3/4" long and 2-7/8" tall. The MORryde CRE3000 item # MR27ZR you mentioned is 8" long and 3-1/2" tall, so this would not be a good replacement. A better option for your 13-122 equalizer is the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer item # K71-653-00. These measure 7-3/4" long and 3" tall, so this will be a much more suitable replacement. The E-Z Flex is a cushioned equalizer that uses a rubber core to absorb shock and minimize chucking. As far as replacement shackles and wet bolts go you're going to need to measure the shackles on your travel trailer to find the correct ones. If you have 2-1/4" long shackles you will want the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit item # MR46ZR. For 3-1/8" long shackle straps item # MR76ZR. This measurement is taken from the center hole to the center hole of the shackle strap. You'll want to pick the kit that's closest in size to your current ones.

What are your thoughts on the morryde crossmemeber hanger supports? Are these worth the investment? I

@Ryan The MORryde X-Factor Dropdown Crossmember for Stock Leaf Spring Suspension item # MR84AR is going to shore up and support your trailer's frame like a sway bar on a vehicle. It will keep your trailer's suspension from buckling when making tight turns or driving on rough roads. I would go with a shock upgrade like item # RM-2460 over the crossmember supports if you're worried about bumpy roads. They are helpful on tight turns though.
