Recommended Kit to Convert Brinkley Z3100 from Drum to Disc Brakes

Question:

I am inquiring about changing my drum breaks on my Brinkley Z3100 to disk brakes. I was told by one of your sales people I need to tear down the axels to get a bearing number. There have been many You Tube videos of this change being done to the Brinkley Z3100 and your company supplying the parts. Is tearing the axel down to get a bearing number the only way to get information on this purposed change.

Hey Dwyane yes that is necessary unfortunately. We do have disc brake kits like the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE68YR which will work with 7,000 lb axles that uses specific bearings.

The last couple of things you'd need is a brake line kit # 18TA-BLKIT as well as an actuator # DE47SR and a breakaway kit # 3802308.

If you can let me know what size axles you have as well as what bearings it uses, I'd be happy to find the correct kit.

Good afternoon, Bryce I was able to get the bearing number from Lippert, the outer and inner bearing are both Timken Bearings. The outer bearing number is 02475 and the inner bearing number is 25580. Also, the rim for the tire has 8 lug nuts. Please let me know if you need any further information. Regards, Dwayne

@DwayneM Hey Dwyane thanks for getting that info. So it looks like the brake kit # DE68YR will work great. You'll still need the brake lines, actuator, and breakaway kit mentioned above as well to complete the swap.

Bryce Looking at the picture of the parts I'm assuming I would need to buy 2 of the DE68YR. Dwayne

@David Hey David, that all looks good to me. That kit # DE66AR is basically the same thing as what I told Dwyane earlier but it's already kitted together.

@BryceD Thanks for replying, I pulled the plug and ordered the DeeMaxx , when I called to get the bearings from Lippert , I gave them the serial number of the axle. Then I contacted E trailer and was told that those bearing numbers related to a 3500 pound axle and that’s definitely not what’s on the Brinkley Z 3100, they are 7000 pound axles. Thank you for responding.
