Question:
Id like to know what all I’d need to purchase from you to install a recess hitch and wiring for towing in a 2014 Jeep grand Cherokee limited. 2wd and without the factory tow package. Thank you

The best hitch for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited is going to be the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13065. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Jeep with included hardware. I really like this hitch because the crosstube mounts behind your bumper and is completely concealed. This leaves only the 2" receiver visible which not only offers a better look but also helps with ground clearance.
The Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13065 is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 500 lbs maximum tongue weight. This can be increased to 7,500 lbs and 750 lbs when used with a weight distribution system.
I have linked a picture below along with an installation video so you can see what this hitch looks like when installed.
Since you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C62VR and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
If you are towing a trailer with brakes you will need to have a 7-way connector and a brake controller. Since your Jeep did not come with the towing package there are no custom fit options. You will need the 4-way connector recommended above along with the Universal Installation Kit item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your vehicle with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Trailer Brake Controller item # RED24FR. This is a proportional brake controller that automatically adjusts your trailer's braking based on the deceleration of your Jeep. The Liberty has a unique installation method where the main unit is concealed behind your dash and the only part visible is the control knob.
You will need the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers item # RED69FR to complete the installation, since your Jeep does not have the tow package.
