Can You Hook Power Wire Up From Curt Harness to In-Bed 12 Volt on 2022 Ford Maverick
Question:
The install video for this harness is excellent! I do have one question though as it relates to wiring to the battery. Since the Ford Maverick provides prewired 12 volt connections switched, fused in the rear of the bed one of each side by the tailgate, is it possible to pull power from one of those sources instead of going all the way to the battery? It seems logical that you should be able to do this and it would save quite a bit of time. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

We get this question a lot but unfortunately our answer is always the same, you must run a wire all the way up to the battery when installing a trailer wiring harness like the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C59DR. The reason for this has to do with the rating of the circuit, the in-bed power source may not be rated for the full power requirements of the converter which could trip the fuse or increase a chance for fires. I know it's a bit more work but it's required if you wish to keep the warranty of the harness. That said, it's pretty much just a straight shot once you find the brake lines as that's usually what I do.
