Question:

I'm looking at a Curt 5th wheel hitch for my 2022 Ram 2500. I understand I need the adapter C29BR since my truck has the puck system but I'm trying to figure out if I can use the E16 or should I go with the A16? There is a price difference but I'm not sure if the A16 is worth it? Thank you for your time!

You are correct that you need the Adapter Rails # C29BR to mount a 5th wheel hitch to the OEM puck system on your 2022 Ram 2500.

When it comes to comparing the E16 # C16115 and the A16 # C16120, the E16 is a very entry level 5th wheel hitch while the A16 is more of a standard. This is due to the E16 having a simple slide bar jaw system that still allows the king ping to jostle around some and the hitch head cushioning is a bit more basic. The A16 has a dual jaw system that completely wraps around the king pin so there isn't any movement and it has a full articulating torsion head that gives the towing experience a better quality since it's more smooth.

Both hitches will get the job done. I recommend the E16 if you're just getting into 5th wheel towing and just seeing if it's something you enjoy, but I recommend the A16 if you plan on towing more than once a year.
