The Hardwired Power Watchdog Surge Protector with Bluetooth and Emergency Shut Down - 50 Amp Item # HU27FR has to be hardwired and the Portable Power Watchdog Surge Protector with Bluetooth and Emergency Shut Down - 50 Amp Item # HU87FR is just a plug-and-play connection.

So the portable one is just easier to use than the regular.
