Recommended Reese Goose Box and B&W Offset Ball
Question:
Sorry, multipart question here. We have a 2016 GMC 2500 4x4, short bed, 20inch tires 265/60 and 15Kgvw G/D- Solitude 310GK 5th wheel. Would I be good to use the BW offset. for a touch more turn angle, in combination with the Reese RP85FR goose box? Next - Ive attached some pics of the existing pin box because I think its a Lippert 1621 but am hoping you can confirm. The tag has lippert item #429640, something?NS000503515 and RPO-00006 2306. Assuming Ive found the correct Goose box, how can I determine whether to install the GB all the way up like the current pin box is, or down a row on the Lippert. I saw various opinions in the QandA. If Im way off in thinking these are a good choice for my rig, please feel free to set me straight. Thanks!

This is definitely a good option for towing. It makes the coupling quite a bit easier and will not require the use of a large, heavy fifth wheel hitch. That being said, installing the Reese Goose Box # RP85FR will of course depend on your pin box, but the height is personal preference. It never hurts to have a little more room, however, so I tend to recommend not going all the way up when installing. Though I couldn't find anything with the numbers you pulled from your pin box, I did, however, conclude that there were not many variations to the pin boxes used on the Rota-Flex design.
The 1621/1621HD pin box # LC328330 will have 2 vertical rows of bolt holes. The row closest to the front of the pin box will have 3 holes and the set closest to the rear will have 2 holes. If this matches, the # RP85FR will be the correct fit.
The other option was the 1116 pin box # LC176440. This would have 3 vertical rows of 2 holes. If this matches your bolt pattern, you would need to go with the # RP94716-61301.
The B&W # BWGNXA4085 will give you 4 inches of rearward offset, but it must be used a B&W Turnoverball system with a square base for the ball, like the # BWGNRK1016. If you have the factory round ball base set up, unfortunately this will not be able to be utilized.
It should also be noted that the Reese # RP85FR is recommended to be used with a long bed truck. Even with an offset ball, there is the possibility of the front of the camper making contact with the rear of the cab, so please be mindful when using a set up in this manner.
