Location of Brake Light Switch on a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew
Question:
Can you help me with the location of brake light switch on 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew? I am installing a Prodigy P2 brake controller. Any idea of what color wire I might be looking for?

When you are looking for the stoplight switch wire, start at the brake pedal and work upward. You will see a cluster of wires very near the pedal that will contain the brake light switch wire. On the 2010 Grand Caravan model we wired for a P2 brake controller # 90885, the cluster ran into a big round grommet on the firewall to the left of the pedal. It should be the same on your 2012 Grand Caravan Crew.
The 2010 model ended up having the stoplight switch wire as a white wire with a green tracer, but Dodge does not always use the same colors from year to year. Make sure you test using a probe-style circuit tester like our part # PTW2993 to make sure that the wire you find only has power when the brake pedal goes down.
I am including a link to the 2010 installation video for you to reference. The video includes the method for installing a 7-Way at the back of the vehicle as well if you need assistance with that part of the setup.
I also grabbed a still picture from the video that shows the cluster of wires in relation to the brake pedal location.
