Today on this 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan we are going to install the Timbren Suspension Enhancement system part number TDVRRT. For clarity we already took off our tire and wheel and you see all suspension components right here. What is going to happen is that Timbren component is going to actually replace this part right here and to replace that part what is going to happen is you are going to have to lower the axle itself, this whole assembly, down a little bit so you can get the spring out. How we are going to do that is we are going to first take off this bolt for shock mount and let the whole axle assembly come down. Then also we are going to undo this brake line here and the bracket underneath of it so it has plenty of room to come down and not stress the brake lines. 00:39
Now I have got plenty of working room. All right we have go the suspension fully extended now. You can see our shock is loose. All right so we are going to push down on the axle itself and this will give us some more working room to pull out the spring. All right what we are going to do next is go ahead and take out the assembly. This whole plastic cup on top here actually has like a little plastic angles that just kind of hold it in place. We are just going to take a pry bar and kind of just work our way around it and pop it lose. Okay put our spring to the side now. This bump stop here has a friction fit on the inside and we simply pry that out. 01:29
All right to give you one comparison here to show the original and the Timbren product and this one is already assembled. It has got three components. Obviously the spring itself, this rubber component which fits into the cup, and the nut and bolt assembly that is on the inside. It is pretty simple, it is just a matter of pushing this back in there and it is going to be a friction fit too. So it seems like a lot tighter fit than the original so it would be a good idea to lubricate this with some soapy water or something like that and shove it into place. Basically we will go ahead and reassemble this back into our spring now and reinstall the spring in the van. At this step we have got our spring in and start reassembling our suspension really. Move the axle back up, reattach the shock absorber, and then we will go on to our lines and rebolt that into place. All right with this one side done we will go ahead and move on to the other side and do the same exact procedure. To give more comparison. All right and there you have it for Timbren Suspension Enhancement system. Part number TDVRRT.

Thanks for the video, just purchased a set and plan to install next weekend. We tow a small trailer and carry three kids and luggage around all the time. Tried the Firestone airbag setup first, but a bag blew out and the company never got back to me about replacements.
