Troubleshooting Camper Slide-Out That Needs to be Pushed In
Question:
I have an 18:1, 9000 rpm slide room motor on my big slide out on my trailer. I am having to help the slide room in by pushing it. Is there such a thing as having it geared differently so it moves in slower and with more torque?

It's technically possible to move to a higher gear ratio for your slide-out but it would require you to completely gut out the existing set up (not just the motor) and it's also likely that it wouldn't resolve the issue you are having.
If you're having to help move the slide-out room in by pushing it then there is something going on besides a low gear ratio. A common cause for this type of issue is the slide-out catching on something as it's trying to move in. This could simply be carpeting inside the camper or a stick that might have found its way in or around the rails. I recommend inspecting these areas to see if anything needs to be moved or cleared away.
The issue could also be caused by a weak battery. Check to make sure your battery is fully charged and in good condition.
If this does not resolve the problem please let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot.
