Best Fix for 2008 Mercedes-Benz ML350 Connection to Trailer With LED Lights
Question:
My 2008 MB ML350 vehicle with 7 way trailer lights DONT work with new boat trailer that has LED lights. Works fine with old incandesent trailer lights. Currently at MB dealer and they dont have a recommendation. They do agree that the draw is low from the trailer, the MB electrical system senses it as bulb out or no bulb and therefore doesnt energize the adapter. Please advise your recommendation to remedy this common issue on these German vehicles. Thanks

You are correct that LED trailers can have issues connecting to some vehicles and the German vehicles are notorious for this issue. Because you know your 2008 Mercedes-Benz ML350 has low draw with the LED trailer lights, there is a very easy solution. You simply need the Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass - 7-Way RV to 7-Way RV - Vehicle End # 20142. This plugs into your vehicle 7-way and has load resisters integrated to help your system see a draw like it would on incandescent bulbs for proper function.
