Question:

Can I put taller tires on my Niagra Trailer with load range D if possible. I have 175-80R13

Yes, assuming you have the clearance between the tire tread and underside of the fender. You'll want at least 3 to 4 inches to allow for the trailer to go over bumps in the road.

However, if you plan to keep the 13 inch rim there isn't much taller you can go. The 185/80D13 sized tire # AM1ST79 is only about 0.3 inches larger in diameter compared to what you have now.

If you increase the rim to a 14 inch the # AM32161 is a 205/75R14 that would increase the total diameter by a little over 2 inches. It's also a Load Range D tire with a capacity of 2,200 pounds at 75 psi. It has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If you replace the rim you'll need to make sure to get the correct bolt pattern of your trailer.

If you decide to keep the size you have # AM10210 is a 175/80R13 tire that's Load Range D. It has a weight capacity of 1,610 pounds at 65 psi.

I’ve got ST 175/80 R13 tires on my trailer now. I’ve got 15 inch rims and was wondering about replacing the tires with a lower profile 15 inch with the same radius. Is that even possible or safe? Would it be cheaper as well?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Are you wanting to replace your existing 13" tires with 15" units that have the same diameter? Any 15" tire/wheel combo will be larger in height/diameter than your current units, so unfortunately any change up to this size will cut into your wheel well clearance and raise your trailer just a tad. The smallest 15" trailer tire we have available is a 205/75R15 like the Kenda Karrier # AM10245. This size has an overall diameter of around 27.3" and a width of 8.1".
