Usually there is a grommet some where that can be utilized to route the trailer wiring out of the interior of the vehicle and mount it near the trailer hitch. When you access the rear of the left side tail light look for a grommet. Once you find one close enough that the 4-way connector can reach you will need to make a small slit in the grommet to put the 4 wires in and then route the connector through the hole and reinstall the grommet.
If you find a spot that you can use but it is not close enough to route to the trailer hitch you can use an appropriate length of Bonded 4 Wire - per foot, item # 16-4B-1, to extend the connector.
You may also want to consider a mounting bracket for your trailer wiring. The Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat, item # 18144, along with the No-Drill Mount Bracket, item # 18140 short, Or # C57202 long, would work very well and is a no drill installation.
