Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

I have not installed yet, but appears to be a very solid and well built hitch. Came with instructions and hardware to install on my 66 C-10.

by:

The quality of the CURT hitch is superb. Installation was s bit strange. One hole on each side lined up. I had to drill the other four. Not a big deal. The weird part is that the center section of the bumper where the license plate goes had to have 3/4 inch cut from the bottom and the license moved up 3/4 inch to clear the receiver.
Someone without a good workshop would not have been able to install this hitch.
This pic is before the license was moved up.

First let start off by saying that from the time I ordered the hitch receiver, and the time it arrived at my doorstep was quite timely and much faster than other sites I have ordered parts from. Directions were simple enough to understand and not much of a read. Only problems I came across was the previous holes that were drilled into the frame did not match with the holes on the receiver (previous owner must have had a different style receiver installed). I wasn’t too upset at this as this was something I expected from a truck that is nearly 50 years old; simply fixed this by drilling new holes, which if I remember correctly, was stated to be expected during install. Along with this, I had to remove the exhaust tail pipes as they were in the way, but this shouldn’t be a problem if your vehicle has the exhaust directed out the side instead of straight back like mine. The directions state to use a 1/2 inch drill bit for the holes, but I found this to be too tight. I would recommend using a 5/8 inch bit or shimmying the 1/2 inch bit around while you drill. I would recommend you get a buddy to help, but in a case like mine, simple vice grips sufficed to hold the hitch receiver in place while I drilled. Should take about an hour with help and sharp drill bits. Overall was a good experience.

by:

Installed this on my 69' C-10 LWB about 1yr ago and have had very good success with it. As I recall it was a little more difficult because I set it forward a little more than normal and had to drill a couple holes. It wound up being almost a hidden hitch. Hitch appears to be well built with good looking welds. I have used this to tow 22' Ski boat on numerous occasions without any issues.

by:

I installed this hitch receiver on m1971 c10, 8 ft. bed truck. The receiver is about an inch narrower than my frame railed. None of the bolt holes lined up. I did not flush the receiver with the license plate because the hooks for the chain would have been under the bumper. It is a sturdy and well receiver. The reason I gave it a 3 was because of the install process.

by:

Product and hardware are of good quality, only 1 hole on each side of my trucks frame lined up, so I had to drill more holes in the frame and line it up the best I could, also it didn’t clear the license plate frame on the bumper so I had to trim that about an inch, but in the end it looks good and feels secure, so I’m happy, I haven’t towed with it yet but I torqued the bolts up with a breaker bar so I’m sure it will be fine for a small boat.

Hitch as advertice! Also Fast Shipping!!! Recommend!!!

by:

Fit Nice on my 1964 chevy C 10 step side. tucked up nicely. had drill a couple of holes. very happy!!!

by:

Installed on my 86 Chevy C10. Had to modify a few things but not terrible. There were some brackets that connected the bumper to the frame that needed to be removed. I took a picture of the bracket loosely attached for reference. Also had to drill out some rivets in a piece of metal that connects the two frame rails. I took a picture of me pointing at the spot where the rivet was. So had to drill 4 holes total. Overall not too difficult and is pretty well hidden under the truck.

by:

Easy installation. Like that you can't see it except for the receiver itself

by:

Nice high quality, easy to install, fast shipping, would recommend this hitch for 67-72 C10 truck. Exact fit to frame, and even used 2 existing holes. If hitch was made about 1 inch narrower would not even require any drilling. Thank you.

by:

someone should have checked the order before shipping 2 products that don't fix my 2023 mitsubishi eclipse cross now i have to paid the return shipping after already paying xxx to ship these products .thats bad business to me guess Amazon is the place to shop as free shipping for same products

by:

Works great and fit as it should. Great instructions on the website as well!

by:

Great product at a great price. Comes with all hardware and detailed instructions. Easy installation with a little drilling. Looks good and works great. I highly recommend this product to anyone. My 1973 Chevy is happy to have the addition.

by:

Fast & accurate service. I installed the hitch on my 1972 C10. I used 2 existing holes and had to drill 4 new ones. I also had to shorten the license plate bracket to clear the receiver. It took longer to install than listed but I expected it based on other reviews. I'm pleased with the final result.

  • Comparing Curt and etrailer Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 1985 GMC 1 Ton Pickup
Both the Curt # 13028 and our etrailer # e88AR receivers are going to require the same installation. We have our receiver manufactured by Curt so you have the same made in the USA quality with the only difference being the finish used. Our etrailer receiver has a matte black finish versus the gloss black on the Curt. Personally I feel the matte black is a better finish and looks better over time. The installation will require drilling all new holes in your frame. I recommend using 2 Clamps...

  • etrailer Trailer Hitch Fitment on a 2007 Ford F-350 Cab and Chassis
Yes, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e88AR is a fit for your 2007 Ford F-350 cab and chassis truck. I really like this hitch because of the durable matte black finish since it does a better job of protecting the hitch than the classic glossy black finish we see on the other hitches. If you don't already have wiring I recommend checking out the Tekonsha Universal Wiring Kit # 18252 and then wrapping up your towing setup with the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers #...

For the 1986 GMC 1500 1/2 ton pickup, we carry a couple of different hitches depending on the bed length and bumper style that of your truck. • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 1989 Chevy K1500
The Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15511 will fit a 1989 Chevy K1500 if it's the cab and chassis model. Since you have a pickup we need to find a different hitch. If your Chevy has the standard or step bumper then I recommend checking out the etrailer hitches; part # e88AR if you have a crew cab or part # e29KR if you don't have a crew cab. These are lower capacities than the Curt hitch you currently have but it matches more closely to what your truck is really capable of pulling. If...

Actually several of your pictures did make it through! What you have there is the standard/step bumper on your 1979 Chevy C-10. Deep drop bumpers, also called cowboy bumpers, drop way down. If your truck has an 8 foot bed you can use Curt trailer hitch # C14082. If you have a 6 foot bed you would need hitch # e88AR.. If you go with the Curt hitch then I also recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK2416. It comes with a ball mount with a 3 inch rise/4 inch trop, a 2 inch ball, 2-5/16 inch...
