No issues at all.

2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

Works the. Way I need. Thanks

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

by:

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

by:

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

The right adapter, fits Audi q7 factory tow package. 1/3 the price of Audi part. Fast shipping, etrailer is the place for reasonably priced trailer parts.
Thanks George

The 2nd generation of the GMC Sierra ran from 2007 through 2013, so it's likely the wire location and color are the same. You'll want to test the wire just to be sure though. That being said, I would actually recommend tapping into the dedicated brake light wire located up under the dash and to the left of the steering column. • How Much Power Should be at Vehicle Side 7-Way Power Pin
Normally we see a 30 amp fuse at the 12V power pin on your vehicle-side 7-Way like the part # PK11893. You'll want to verify with your tow vehicle what that fuse rating is and then you can check the amps at the 7-Way when a load is applied to see what you're getting. If there is a significant drop then you might have a short somewhere in the wiring. The 12V power pin is in the 1 o'clock position when you're looking at the connector face-on. I've attached a photo for you to reference.

On a 7-way connector the running light circuit is the pin in the 10:00 position as you face the connector opening on your truck. • Trailer Running Lights Keep Blowing Fuses when Turned On
It sounds like there is a short circuit that is overloading the running light circuit in the tow package wiring on your tow vehicle. The most likely culprit is a dirty or corroded trailer connector on the vehicle or trailer if not both. The first thing I recommend is to make sure the truck and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside, where the wires attach, and outside on the pins. You can also check for any damaged or pinched wires on the truck and on the trailer...

Any time a trailer has turn signals that work but not the brake lights it can be an interesting situation. This is because the brake lights and turn signals on trailer tail lights are on the same circuit. In this situation it is almost always a bad ground connection.
