Manufacturer Review of the MaxxAir Standard Vent Cover

Hi, I'm Mark Polk with RV Education 101. Today, we're going to install this new Maxxair Fanmate Vent Cover featuring the Easy Clip Quick Mounting Clips on two versions of the Maxxfan Standard Fan. The first installation is on a new Maxxfan Standard Model with molded waterproof mounting tabs for a quick and easy tool free installation. Next, we will install the Maxxair Fanmate on a previous version Maxxfan Standard Model without mounting tabs, using this hardware. After the installation, your Maxxfan Standard Fan will be protected from rain and the elements by a full access Fanmate Vent Cover that comes with an industry exclusive six year warranty. Let's not waste anymore time. Caution: Exercise caution when working on the roof of your RV.

A fall can result in serious injury or death. We'll start by installing the Maxxair Fanmate Vent Cover, featuring the Easy Clip Mounting Clips on a new Maxxfan Standard Model with built in waterproof mounting tabs. There are no tools required for this installation. Here's how you do it. The first step is to assemble our Fanmate Vent Cover. Place the Fanmate Vent Cover body on a flat surface.

Lay the louvre section behind the opening of the vent cover body, with the tabs facing up. Slide the oval shaped tabs on the louvre section through the slots on the vent cover body. Rotate the louvre section upward and snap into the top of the vent cover body. Make sure the louvre edge goes behind the tabs inside of the vent cover body. Make sure all three snaps are secured and both oval shaped tabs remain in the slots.

There's an optional bug screen available to help keep the inside area cleaner and free of bugs and insects. To install the bug screen, insert the screen into the Fanmate, behind the louvres. Slide the screen in until it is wedged between the top of the Fanmate and the louvres. Pivot the screen toward the louvres and snap the six locking tabs into the louvres. Intalling the Fanmate. The mounting tabs on the Maxxfan make it super easy to install the Fanmate using the Easy Clip mounting clips.

Place the Fanmate over the four mounting feet on the Maxxfan with the louvres facing the rear of the vehicle. Slide the Easy Clip pins into place. Rotate the Easy Clip pins upward to lock into position on top of the mounting feet. That's all there is to it. Now we're going to install our Fanmate Vent Cover on a previous version Maxxfan Standard Model without the mounting tabs using the included hardware package. This mounting hardware can also be used to install the Fanmate on other manufacturer fan products. Let's get started. Assemble the Fanmate Vent Cover using the same method as our first installation. Some Maxxfan Standard Models have predrilled holes with plugs like this. Other manufacturer fans and vents will require centering, marking, and drilling holes in the vent sidewall to mount the Fanmate. Follow the installation instructions. Use the number 6 by 1/2" long screws provided to mount the four brackets in the predrilled holes on the Maxxfan. Place the Fanmate over the Maxxfan with the louvres facing the rear of the vehicle. Line the Easy Clip mounts up with the brackets and slide the Easy Clip pins into place. Rotate the Easy Clip pins upward to lock into place. When you need to service or clean the Maxxfan, simply remove two of the Easy Clips, and lift the Fanmate cover for full access. The Maxxair Fanmate provides superior rain protection, full access to the fan, and it comes with an industry exclusive six year warranty.
