Video Transcript for Hands-On with the LED Trailer Fender Clearance Light

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a fender clearance, and side marker light. Now this is a combination side marker light and clearance light which would install on your trailer's fender. It features a sealed waterproof construction and it contains a total of two LED's, one LED per side. LED's make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, and they're much more efficient. You also don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments with LED systems.ON this side you have the amber lens, and on this side you have the red lens.

The red lens always faces the rear of the trailer, amber faces the front of the trailer. The base is black in color, it's constructed of a durable plastic construction, and you'll notice that we have a groove right here so that way we can run our wires out the back and maintain a flush mount design. It is a two wire design, yellow wire is for ground, red wire is for power. This is designed for the passenger side of your trailer.Taking a look at the overall dimensions of the light and then we'll hook it up to power so you can see what it looks like. The overall length of the unit from the very back to the very front is about six and one quarter inches.

Overall width, that's edge to edge measuring the base, that's two and one eighth inches. And the overall height from the mounting surface to the top of the lens is three quarters of an inch tall. These mount holes here, your larger mount holes, these are separated on center by one and one sixteenth of an inch. They have a diameter of a quarter inch. And then the other mount holes here at the back of the unit, these are separated on center by seven eighths of an inch and will accept one eighth of an inch mounting hardware.

Mounting hardware is not included.We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power that way you can see what it looks like. We'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a lower light setting. Again, the yellow wire is our ground wire and the red wire is our power wire. So you can see here it sends out a nice consistent signal. Again, we have one LED per side, sealed, waterproof unit.

And it just sends out a very consistent signal. LED's also have a much faster response time once they're activated compared to incandescent lights or incandescent bulbs. That's going to do it for today's look at the fender clearance and side marker light.
