It was just what I was looking for. I purchased a newer truck and wanted to keep my old hitch, but it would not work with the newer truck. I did not want to buy a whole new hitch. I found that I could buy just the base that would work with my newer truck and save my some money too. Really like the way that the B&W hitch works and now I can continue to use my old hitch that I love.
This was the exact part I needed to continue to use my B&W head. Works perfect. Got the part from eTrailer quicker than expected. Great customer service and follow up.

Working perfect! Allowed me to use my original B&W head on my new Ford luck system.
We bought a new truck with a puck system so we just replaced the bottom half of our B & W Companion turnover ball slider hitch with this puck system base. No need to buy a whole new hitch. This is just a solid as the previous version and we have a lot more bed space with the long bed and standard hitch base. Same B & W quality-American steel. Quick shipping from eTrailer as always.
B&W base was great but had a hard time getting all 4 pucks to latch. Problem was with the Ford puck alignment and not the B&W base..
Hitch base works well. but was difficult to install. I had to call BW and get a shim due to clearance issues. Once I got the shim, it installed as expected. I do like the small footprint in the bed of the truck.
I have had several B&W product in the past with nothing but the highest of quality. The base plate for the factory Ford fifth wheel hitch was not the same quality I had received in the past. After continuously adjusting latch cam bolts I could only make the plate contact the truck bed in 3 points at one time. Under load of my 14000 lbs camper a lot of uneasy noises coming from hitch not what I was expecting.

The latch cams are adjustable, and may need to be adjusted independently since the OEM pucks may be at different depths. This information can be found on the current version of the installation instructions on page 3 of 5.
Take it from someone that worried for three days if I was going to be able to install this hitch or not it was a piece of cake! Took me a little over an hour! This was really easy and the instructions were very clear! The added plus to this was that etrailer, Anna was just a phone call away! I called her one time for simple clarification issue and she was such a pleasant and professional person to talk to! Thumbs up on etrailer! They got this right!

I loved the super fast shipping. Base fit perfectly in our truck and works awesome!
I purchased the Companion base for my new truck with the puck system so I did not have to buy a whole new 5th wheel hitch. It saved so much time and money buying just the base and using my king pin hitch off of my older model in my other truck. Swapping back and forth is so simple instead of having to remove the whole system. Installation was so easy, even the set-up for positioning the location for the ride was a breeze. We are so pleased with this purchase, we plan on getting all of our needs from etrailer.

This is my 2nd Companion hitch. First was used in a short bed truck, needed the sliding Companion. I now have a new truck, Ford F-350 LB, with the 5th wheel prep. pkg. I kept the top section and simply ordered the lower section designed to drop right in on the Ford. I was amazed at the design of the B&W Companion Hitch. It really took about 3 min to install this unit in my truck. The folks at etrailer.com were very helpful, they answered all my questions, and followed up both during and after delivery. My unit arrived on time and would highly recommend etrailer.com to anyone looking for Goose Neck or 5th wheel hitches.
2017 F350 with factory hitch (puck) system. I bought the B&W base plate to use with my existing B&W 5th Wheel hitch that was the older drop in style. The new plate fits the truck very well even with a spray in bed liner and rubber bed mat. Locks up very snug and hovers over the bed with out fear of it touching, smashing and deforming the aluminum bed. As others have said the install was quick and easy and now the new truck is ready to hit the road.
This worked out perfectly because I purchased a newer F450 with the Puck system and my Older F350 SRW I had the under the bed single point slider. I only has to purchase the base. Had to make a few adjustments for the locks to engage the pucks on the truck. But it saved me money on not having to purchase a complete hitch. Now if I need to I can use either truck.
B&W products are hands down the best on the market. I’ve had two of their hitches in my 2008 DRW F250 and my 2021.
Product shipping is terrible, packaging looked like UPS played soccer with it, but no damages. Driver knocked on the door and asked me to inspect it prior to signature, it was that bad. Not sure why the factory doesn’t palletize or crate for better shipping, cardboard won’t hold a 125lb load.
As other B&W products I have, it's built well! Got a new truck with a different bed attachment so I bought this one to replace the gooseneck attachment style base I had before. I reused my old (but in great shape) head and it came together nicely.
I have 2 trucks and didn’t want to purchase entire new system, being able to just get the base for my Ford F450 with the puck system and to utilize the hitch hookup from my Ram saved money.

Perfect fit in my 2019 F350. Easy install with no problems. Fit with my existing hitch head just fine.
Product is great! Ship arrival date when I first ordered was incorrect and took longer. Tried calling the service advisor at least 10 times, who emailed me when order was placed and she never answered the phone.
This is my 2nd B & W product and like it even better than the first Companion I had. Can’t wait to pull my 35ft Grand Design with it!
